I followed these steps and it worked for approximately a day. While the Microsoft and Game Pass are not set to update any applications, Windows Updates are disabled... somehow, over the last 12 hours Microsoft forced the Gaming Services update back onto my computer.

Update: the workaround is no longer working for me.

The same thing happened to me, it works for about 1 day and then it stops working

If you repeat the fix, it will work again but it’s a tedious workaround and I trust the devs are working on something… else, this is insanely disappointing. Has Bungie at least admitted this is an issue?

Since the 15th (last time my Destiny 2 updated from Xbox app) the fix no longer works even if I repeat all the steps. With the old version of Gaming Services installed I launch Destiny 2 and "GameLaunchHelper" is the only process that kicks off before it crashes. Destiny 2 and Destiny 2 Launcher never start. The request for our crash information is the most I've seen Bungie acknowledge the issue. I reached out to their Twitter support page with no reply. It's very frustrating. At least I was able to play Iron Banner via the Steam version but none of my DLCs are available there.
