It's really strong and if you don't think so your delusional.

Their smoke bomb is also incredibly buffed n does what both top n bottom trees offered prior to the these changes. The other obvious change is how supers work. Some classes don't ever even see a super in trials now. This buffed void ridiculously as well since it's weakness was a trash super. Void already had one of the best neutral games and that was just buffed as well as their super also getting buffed. You can't look at only invis in a vacuum like you clearly want to do in an attempt to down play how busted it is.

its only an issue if ur up close trying to go toe to toe with them then its sometimes hard to track them... so basically only if ur trying to have a melee fight or one shot wonder them with a shotgun....
-
You’re right! They should go crap on one of the other classes for once!
-
You ever heard of the story with titans getting anything fun they have removed within a season or 2? The same will probably happen with the void os
-
I think they should leave everything hot till after solar and arc 3.0 come out. It’s frustrating at times but incredibly fun as well. Rather things fun and chaotic than balanced, bland and boring 😁. I mean who takes PvP super serious when it’s not a money tournament game anyways? Have fun and chill!
-
And actually I think invis hunter was better pre void 3.0, and the irony is invis hunters with the right build has better invis duration than currently
-
Edited by ELIJAH_GOAT: 3/14/2022 7:29:09 PMYeah, one dodge used to last me 15 seconds of invis.
-
Oh and about the jump… you mean the EXPLOIT of JUMPING INTO A CEILING to zoom across the map in seconds? Lmao yes that’s totally balanced and is working as intended. Sigh.
-
The titan overshield can be more oppressive when used well, but a skilled hunter with invis is the most oppressive class currently in my opinion. Don’t need to give or provide a lecture on how invis works, but every other class ability makes the player relatively stationary to maintain their unique buff (rift/overshield), and thus easy to positionally counter regardless of your subclass. Invis hunters though? If you don’t happen to get lucky enough to spot the silhouette, you’re dead 9 times out of 10 against them. And the 1 time out of 10 you win, the hunter missed their shot to pull them out of invis. With that said, I don’t really know a viable solution to bring it more in line. I don’t think it’d be fair to have some of the nerfs called for, like OP asking to remove the subclass entirely basically lol.
-
Titan overshield takes a lot of thinking to activate (something hard for most of us crayon eaters) and keep for a long time, but with certain exotics, we can seriously, and quite easily, become a powerhouse. Things like Citan's, Alpha Lupi, or the PvE god of Inmost Light can be used to make our game much easier. I've not played Warlock in PvP yet, not seriously at least, so I can't say much on that, but I've also never had a problem with invisible hunters. I commend you on being civil and making thought-out comments though, that's great to see.
-
Don't think it really needs a nerf. All classes have something just as oppressive and strong. The void buddy you were referring to in another comment as trash is great for controlling an area. I wouldn't ever use that for kills but more as a distraction and area control which it seems to be great at. Noticed a lot of pretty good warlocks using it effectively. Titan overshield is just as you said I agree with that I think. I think if anything maybe just make the cool down for invis longer in pvp or something idk if that's even possible. Honestly though in trials with all the hunters using it in there I don't think it was that bad. Sound queue is pretty loud, pay attention to your surroundings and don't push into new territory if you know they're invis.
-
While I respect the logical response, I have a hard time accepting any response from someone who has played hunter 100% of pvp since Witch Queen. Please go play warlock and see how bad the activation of the void buddy is. I do like it in pve but not more than chaos accelerant or whatever the devour one is named. You talk about the void buddy being good at area control, yet you see it whirling when it activates, and it’s a VISIBILE mechanic that you can shoot. And once it gets to its location, it’s range is relatively short and can be bursted easily. It’s no different than a warlock stasis turret with the exception that one is a grenade and the other takes an entire aspect to use. Then… you talk about not pushing into unknown territory because of playing against invis hunters… so that’s like an intrinsic passive area control in its own? Longer cooldown seems to be the most fair. But as I’ve said I’m lost at what the best balance would be as it seems bungie overnerfs more often than fairly balances. I’d even be ok with an exotic armor for all classes that helps counter invis similar to those stasis counter boots that I believe titans have.

The only pvp I've even played during wq was trials for the most part. That's the most I've even played it this season and this trials I played a bit of void hunter, but I FULLY intend on going back to top tree solar or bottom tree solar hunter. For iron banner, regular crucible, and next trials weekend. Void hunter is finally in a decent spot, but invis doesn't dominant like a lot of people thinks it does. Not to mention I don't think my opinion should be so quickly and easily disposed of or barely accepted just because of a class I play. If that was the case we could just as easily do that for other warlocks and Titans with strong feelings over another class. I still like Titans (2nd) and warlocks (3rd) I just don't play warlock like that because I just don't care for the mobility/jump. It doesn't stop me from understanding the classes and how they work. This isn't directed at you, but just because I'm a hunter doesn't mean I don't play against other hunters or have experienced what everyone is talking about. Whilst they're invisible and I was in say mid lane (typically before anyone else even got there), I could hear them go invis, knew what angles to hold, when not to peak and what I was even looking for in the first place. Hunter invisibility looks like a body of water walking around, I'm not gonna say it's easy to notice but once you know what you're looking for it's easy to pick it apart from the rest of the terrain. A lot of the times I encountered them I never lost to them because of the fact they were invis. A lot of the time it either ended up being they were just a better shot than I was or whiffed my own shot. I definitely wouldn't call it an intrinsic area control when it's more like just playing with common sense. I'm speaking in a trials sense more than anything but it could just as easily apply to any gamemode. Why would you push in an area you know nothing about anyways? Void buddy was definitely hitting me and my crew, one of us being below average, another average and me being above average. Yeah we could kill it just as soon as it gets there but that's time taken away from focusing down a lane and watching our flanks. So when pressure is applied while a void buddy is up not only are we forced to focus the aggressor down instead, it's still doing tick damage and weakening us. Maybe it's not amazing but it has a place in pvp if used correctly I think. The only reason we're seeing a lot of invis hunters is because majority of the user base plays as them. I'm pretty sure they were marketed as a great starting class for people as well. Throw that in with the fact that void literally just got the rework it makes sense why we're seeing so many of them in the first place. Going invis with hunter dodge every 10 seconds has been a thing before witch queen though. Once arc and solar gets reworked we'll definitely be seeing a lot of 6 shooter hunters, precision goldies, reflect arc staff hunters. So I honestly don't think it needs a nerf but if it got one I wouldn't care in the slightest. It'll only end up hurting everyone else when other classes get nerfed as well. (Pretty sure one eyed mask works like foetracers so that helps spot invis hunters.)
-
I didn’t say your opinion was thrown away. I actually said I have a hard time accepting it… AND asked you to go play a different class AND THEN report back. Yes, you are not the only hunter and you can play against others. It only took me playing one game of hunter before I learned the power I CONTROLLED, versus the power I didn’t have by playing the other classes. That’s more of my point. The weakness of the other classs is heavidly outweighed by the hunters strengths.
-
Let me clarify on that first bit. I meant exactly what you said but just threw the rest in to prove a point. I played Titan a fair bit in PvP already and plan on playing them more and I honestly do just as well if not better when I play as a Titan than I do on my hunter. I think it's safe to say I know what I'm talking about when it comes to Hunters and a little about Titans. I understand how warlocks work and I don't play them, not because I think they're bad in pvp or something stupid like that I just don't play them because I don't personally like the class. I have a warlock and I only ever play it in pve when we need one. I know how the kits work and how to use the abilities and supers. It just doesn't fit my playstyle. But I know what works in a pvp setting and whats good. As I said dude I play as hunter and because the population for hunters is so large I've played against my fair share of them and my entire point was that I know how to play against it and I know just how strong it is and why it's not some overbearing op monster everyone claims it to be. I stated why it's not terribly hard to counter specifically an invis hunter and I've even used it myself. It's strong yes, but not any stronger than it was before and it wasn't even relevant at all before void 3.0. All the classes have strengths and weaknesses that the other won't have that's just something everyone's going to have to learn to get over.
-
Just revert back to pre void 3.0, I felt the class was better then anyway
-
Thankful you someone finally understands how movement on hunters is super strong. I mean dawnblade back in the day could compete but not on verticality unless you jumped before the hunter. I think invisibility for hunters should be treated like how halo active camo is where sprinting shows you out of invisibility. This would make it easier tio combat invis spam with limiting the movement and making it about careful positioning.
-
Sprinting and movement in Halo is entirely different. It could work with a lot of tweaking but Bungie is much less likely to do that and much more likely to ignore it or make Hunters useless. Their passive may be strong but no one wants to play Nightstalker and not stalk around. I bet when Arc and Solar comes around we'll have a lot of complaints about one single aspect that gives the class identity. It might bot even be hunters, but I fear it will.
-
The idea is the same though its not completely different. Active camo is a insane pick up in halo even pro players get dominated by it no matter the skill cause it's about awareness but if you are doing many things at once it becomes annoying to deal with. Which is the point but its only to be picked up once and not spammed, now that hunters have two ways to go invis instead of one it makes it too strong. A invis hunter no matter the skill even if the person doesn't kill you is deadlier than a titan with overshield purely because of radar manipulation. The only draw back to hunter invis is the sound but if we're playing a bigger map like dead cliffs and the team is on the other side of the map and you can't hear them it completely takes away the risk factor of it. Like warlocks and titans have to be stationary for their class ability that takes longer even with mods to recharge than a hunters 11 second dodge with the added melee for invis. The halo thing is just an idea but movement in all games is still movement and bungie made halo so that's why I was saying the no sprinting to be implemented since it would make night stalker a more stalking class. In D1 to go invis you needed to crouch in a position for a period of time which was a great draw back cause it limited movement before you went invis.
-
It shouldn't be touched. If anything add a trail like spectral blades but if it's going to be easier to see than add an overshield to the hunter while invis. Warlocks literally have buddies that can shoot or drain opponents but being invisible is th e main complaint, something that can't inherently cause any damage to anybody. But because people can't spot it it's a problem 🤣
-
Or make them take increase damage while invis.
-
Edited by Maggie Valley Champ 2016: 3/14/2022 5:01:15 PMTo add, you’ve only played hunter since WQ launch. Not a diss at all, but a strong recommendation to take a warlock into pvp and then come back with your findings. Warlock main, and I’ve unequipped Child of the Old Gods (void buddy) a long time ago, as again, it’s trash (in pvp). You may get a lucky kill here and there against 0.3-.6 k/d opponents but that’s it.
-
Like I said, the warlock and titan abilities, when used poorly or expertly, only takes repositioning to counter. And I’m talking just around a corner. The void buddy has about the range of a duskfield grenade and doesn’t even come close to OHK. I think you have to be damaged before it’s activated AND sit in it the entire duration to die. It also takes 2-3 bursts to destroy it and you can of course shoot it from wherever. You lose all credibility of a legit and fair debate when your reply is to add an overshield to an invis hunter. My goodness.
-
Funny, I used to think hand held grenades were fine too until I used other classes and realized they were actually broken on release. You can claim invisibility is balanced all you want, all it takes is using another class and getting destroyed by something you don’t have. But hey go ahead and be ignorant and say its fine, bungie is gonna nerf it even if players didn’t say anything about it just because of the usage in trials alone
