This group is a hub area to collect various psychology related threads, such as research and study results or interesting blogs/pictures, though other academic discussion (sciences, politics, sociology, anthropology, etc) is allowed and encouraged. Also mini-essays and question posts may make an appearance from time to time. Anyone can join, but only a few can post public topics. Check your opinions for others at the door and keep things civil.

American Heart Association Says e-cigs good way to quit
"If someone refuses to quit, we’re not opposed to them switching from conventional to e-cigarettes...Don’t use them indefinitely. Set a quit date for quitting conventional, e-cigarettes and everything else. We don’t think that will be the long-term or useful way to look at it because e-cigarettes may continue and fuel nicotine addiction. Nicotine is not innocuous — it’s known to be harmful and have cardiovascular effects."
Sauce They still classify it as a destructive habit, since it continues nicotine addiction, and they address it as a threat to younger people. ...But the good news is that this endorsement may pave the way for more smokers to take up vaping instead of trying (and often failing) cold turkey or patches. Do you know anyone that has used e-cigs to break a conventional smoking habit?
