This is the best, Im laughing so much to people that say they "EARNED" the gjallarhorn. First of all the only way you can earn a weapon is if you do your weeklys and get the strange coins. Since you EARNED the strange coins to obtain/buy the weapon from Xur.
("Yes I know you can get exotic bounties too")
Only real way you EARN a gjallarhorn is by buying it from Xur, you didn't really EARN a gjallarhorn by a nightfall or PvP or a raid. "It just your luck is better then others"
Definition of earn:
to gain or get in return for one's labor or service.

This argument is over. Earned vs Xurned.
if you didn't know. Both count as earned except the payout for earned compared to xurned is significantly higher. You could also argue that our creates a negative externality of nerfs or people becoming confident or cocky because of a weapon eg raids and not actually having skill. We all know that one guy
I got mine from being carried through my first nightfall. I was level 26 at the time and the person who carried me congratulated me then I said thank you. No trash talk. I knew he wanted it, but he was a gentleman. This is all RNG, so stop complaining. there was probably a time when you got something that someone else got and you were happy. Imagine how they feel when they get it.

3 답변The word "gjallarhorn" or any variation of popular pseudonyms should result in an instant ban from forums. Either that or just give everyone the fücking rocket launcher so we can stop hearing about it.

작성자: ELIJAHrocks 1/24/2015 6:45:29 PMAs I understand it there is only a couple ways not to earn it: AFK a strike or AFK crucible. All other ways are earning as they require you to beat an enemy to get the drop or coins. *Technically I do realize you can get a raid chest in VOG and in the past the raid chest in CE without killing enemies. But the idea was that you would have to kill enemies or escape them to arrive at the chest to begin with.

1 답변작성자: SIX STONES2998 1/24/2015 6:33:57 PMHere's how I see earning in destiny. There's the job: Doing you weeklies every week getting paid with strange coins then using them to buy exotic items. There's bounty hunting: Doing bounties in return of getting a exotic bounty in which you go through a multiple tasks to earn the weapon. There's he lottery (with effort): Putting yourself in situations where you are more likely to get a good item from RNG (like buying multiple lottery tickets to increase the chance of wining) This is stuff like nightfalls, heroics and raids. For PVPers iron banner. There's the lottery (no effort): just play crucible and strikes and get lucky and get some amazing without putting much effort into it. I guess you can add another section the treasure hunt. Going into raids and looting chests and bosses in the hope of getting sweet loot. Everyone of these methods apart from the lottery no effort is technically earning. You put in some form of labour for that item. Whether it's earning strange coins, working your ass of in nightfalls to increase you chances, becoming a boba fett in the chance of getting the golden bounty or hunting through the dark below and vault of glass like Indiana Jones in the hope for a amazing discovery you put some form of hard work to get that exotic or that item. This is just how I see it.

4 답변I think beating Crota on HM and earning an exotic from killing him is earning that weapon or armor. It's pretty tough. Haven't beaten him yet but I've been getting close. Timing and no glitches.

2 답변You definition of earned proves that people who got it from other means then xur earned it. Personally I grinded the roc strikes for hours and days and in return I got a legendary engram that turned into a gjallarhorn.

Depends on how much effort you put in to it, how your attitude is, ect, really if you. Cheesed the nf or anything and got it, or are a dick and got it, your lucky, but if you put loads of effort and are good in terms of attitude, you earned it no Matter what.

My labor/service was beating Aetheon. Which is not that hard of a task to do now but it's still quite challenging. That's how I got my Ghorn. I got my other from a Nightfall. My labor/service was destroying Sepiks Prime. Weekly Strikes are probably the easiest things to do. Especially with the burn modifier on. The fact that you're trying to say earning strange coins from weekly strikes is challenging makes me giggle

I agree whole heartedly with this sentiment and although I have acquired many exotics through Xur I would never state that I earned them from him. I did however earn the coins to buy the exotics which is not a small feat. I feel that "earning" an exotic through attrition is a much better way to get them but i do get a sense of satisfaction from knowing that maybe I did not get the grace of the RNGAwds I will still have an opportunity thanks to Xur. It is easy to be judgmental about how other players choose to play but after all is said and done Bungie put it in the game so it's not "cheating", maybe a lots more like circumventing.
