No. It's nearly identical to the Timepiece, which is arguably a little worse than Edict due to being locked to doing extra damage to Oracles only instead of all Hive majors. The core differences between the Edict and Timepiece are as follows:
Edict can full auto, pierce Knight shields, bonus damage to majors.
Timepiece previously could pierce Knight shields, along with Corrective Measure, but these were long since removed. Timepiece does bonus damage to oracles.
On top of this, the stat differences are nigh negligible to even be considered a "plus" when comparing them. Their impact is so trashy that they don't do nearly enough damage to warrant even being used. I have both Timepiece and Edict and I will say that they both aren't worth it. Save your time for the Fang if you want an Arc primary above Fatebringer.
Besides Fatebringer&Timepiece&Fang the only Arc Primary. So if you got one of these it`s probably not worth it. At least not the last upgrades which cost energy. I don`t have Fang but supopose it`s a better choice, especially because VoC was my most used Primary in Raids.
I tested it in the Nightfall and it was pretty decent, even unleveled.
Even if it did suck why not level it? What else are you going to do with all the energies. I am going to max all of the raid weapons simply for nightfalls.
I'm going to. Seeing as it's Arc just like the Timepiece was, I have a feeling it will simply replace it. Full-auto is nice, as is the piercing the Knight shield perk. I'm still not a pulse rifle fan, but I'm keeping it.
If nothing else, it looks pretty awesome. The hive covering on all the new raid weapons looks cool, and I'm glad the Edict is one of the pulse rifles that doesn't have the huge rail on top of the gun in front of the sight like the Timepiece does.
