Why 31s CAN do Hard Crota
With quite a bit of feedback, insight and a completion under my belt, 3/4 of which I was a level 31, I've decided to close this thread. If you wish to read the original post, it's in the spoiler.

Edit: [spoiler] 1. 31s will [i]only[/i] deal 40% less damage to a level 33 and recieve 40% more. While 32s are at 30% in either direction. 10% isn't much.
2. Level 30s were the first to defeat Crota's End on normal, with a single 31 swordweilder... using, you guessed it, 1 and 2 level below the enemy characters. Likewise with level 32s and 31s against a level 33... Meaning they too were dealing 40% less and getting 40% more damage....
3. A players skill isn't rated by any one set of rules. A level 31 could be a fantastic player, one who is cautious, active, effective and a great communicator while a 32 can be a complete noob who hasn't ever done it legit and is a terrible player, communicator and the like.
If you have any real reasons that I didn't just beat with a hammer, lemme hear em.
I'll be taking my level 31 through hard mode today! Good luck Guardians!
Edit: added the single 31 to the post, obviously he was still a level below and dealt 30% less instead of 0% less...
Edit 2: My point is that a level 30 and below character is the only one who should absolutely NOT attempt this raid.
Edit 3: Math was a rough, but close, estimate. Specifics are still unconfirmed to me but are generally accepted values.

You are right, level 31's can do Hard Crota. Fact is though, a lot of groups are not going to want to deal with a level 31 in their hard group. Nobody has ever said that level 31's can't do Hard Crota, just that they prefer to not have them in their groups.

1 답변Yes they CAN, but they SHOULDN'T It's 20% not 30% Have you even done VoG with a 28, I mean yeah it's not impossible but that guy WILL be carried all the way through, no chance in hell I'll accept a 31 unless I'm playing with friends.

1 답변32s deal 20% less and take 20% more damage. 31s deal 40% less and take 40% more damage. Enemies will be stronger then the normal version. It will be very difficult to complete it with a team of 31 in crotas end raid but possible with maybe 1 or 2 if the other 32st dont mind covering your back but good luck finding a team that will be willing to do more work for the same reward. Most likely on the 1st runs everyone will be lvl 32.

GTFO[/b] EDIT: For those who are responding irrationally to my post, do some research before making an asshat out of yourself. Damage drop offs in Destiny increase exponentially - NOT linearly. The OP's math is way off. The calculations for these things were done LONG AGO. If you don't like the fact that your 31's are mathematically BAD, that's your problem - not mine. This post is accurate.

1 답변It would be the equivalent to a group of 29s fighting crota with all 32s. I don't remember any 28s having much success in the 30 raid.

Why 31s shouldn't do the hard raid. Counter Arguement by me, being a level 31 would give you a disadvantage that 32s wouldn't have. I have two 31s and I never did Crota on normal as a level 30 because I do not like holding my team back. If you are level 31 and want to do the hard raid with friends then by all means please do so, but if you join a group of randoms please do not expect them to say "sweet 31" because randoms won't care about all this work you put into this forum post. Just cross your fingers and hope the RNG gods smile on you like I will with my two 31s today. I do have a level 32; however, I am hoping I can get my level 31 friends to do the raid with (I have five friends so no need for randoms).

3 답변You know there are other factors other than just damage modifiers. Sure low levels can clear normal mode because its NORMAL MODE. Hard mode isn't JUST higher level enemies, there are other modifiers in place that make it more difficult, so having players who deal reduced damage and take increased damage is more of a handicap than it is in normal mode. Example: You don't do VoG on hard with 28s because when they die instantly, you can't revive them like you can in normal mode. Hellooo
