"Cut me some slack; I was forced to acknowledge the reality of bona fide magic less than four days ago. I think in that light my performance is commendable. I assume you shapeshift, like Ranger; does your body actually become stone?"
-
*stops. A strange look appears in my eyes* "...God...?" *shakes self* "Er, not what I meant. I was asking about the actual process. Is your light literal, or metaphorical? And what is 'evil' in this context? Do you have to perceive someone to be evil, or is there a fundamentally 'bad' quality about some individuals which renders them subject to your abilities?"
-
Yes God. Evil, as in Lucifer and all that comes from hell. The light is seen by them. I can literally project it, but evil will only recognize it and flee. Some, some can withstand and will fight me, but they cannot win. It's like kryptonite.. if they were superman.
-
*keypad auto-locks from going idle, I sort of forget what I'm doing and start waxing philosophical* "But is that really 'evil'? I've met several people claiming to be demons since coming here...they don't seem malevolent. Does 'evil' simply mean 'from Hell,' or is there a moral aspect? Could I--for instance--defile a church--not that I would, but could I defile a church and then be affected by your ability? Even if I only did it as an experiment, with no malice in my mind?"
-
You speak of evil as if it can be categorized. *rolls eyes* i was created to ward off the source. the source. A child molester can still give to charity. It doesn't make him anymore or any less than what he is.
-
"Everyone is no more or less than what they are. But everyone is a distinct individual, operating within their own specific slice of space-time, and I can't accept that the universe operates on such a black-and-white system of justice. People are complicated. I've seen good men do awful things because they thought it was right, or because..." "Or because your 'God' allowed their lives to become so devastated that they lost all faith, and gave up on 'right and wrong' altogether."
-
*gaze turns a bit stony* "'Like' doesn't factor into it. I don't accept it because I haven't seen evidence of it. What I have seen is this: living life like that tends to cause trouble." *closes keypad* "Thank you for your time."
-
*smiles* i suppose your experience here thus far has shown you how much you don't believe has been real all along. Yet you say you don't believe cause you haven't seen, while looking at me. *laughs, drinks* good luck with that philosophy
