I agree and I'm glad you get it. There are definitely different feelings associated with getting it from completing a nightfall or raid than from standing in line at Xur while every other guy gets the item you like.
People can keep using this paycheck analogy and say yes you bought it with the money you earned but they know there's a different feeling when atheon disintegrates and Ghorn or something drops.
On a separate note, this guy I know from work cheeses everything. He's despicable. He's the kind of guy who downloads aim bots on PA games. For him to just buy something top tier is a letdown when you know to kind of guy he is. You kids can argue and defend your right to have xur day items but you know you assign a different value to something that you get from end game activities.
Just waiting for this hard mode! Dangerous, I'm feeling dangerous.

there's no difference. I have every available exotic in the game. I have a tremendous grimoire score. I've beaten every boss, every add, every mission, every bounty. and I will tell you the honest truth: bungie built quite a few avenues and conduits for exotics to find their way into people's inventories. the only people that earn exotics in this game are people who play and take advantage of all the different ways that are meant to do so. I think the typical earners vs xurners threads are hilarious, but both sides are wrong. but the fact that the can be very very very good players who get shafted week after week means this system is broken. they installed their systems of checks and balances to make sure this doesn't happen. his name is Xur. and without him, I wouldn't have a full set of exotic weaponry. those players who think they are better or more skilled because their exotics dropped for them are the funniest. no, you were just lucky. you wouldn't feel that way getting a gjallarhorn at the bottom of a crucible reward screen, or having 1-2 kills in a nightfall you joined late.. moral of the story, just focus on getting the exotics, not on who else owns them, or how you got them. once you have them, go enjoy and experience each one

I'm not saying you don't deserve the exotics man let's not pretend that is the argument and font be so smug. When you defeat a boss and get an item you like there is a bigger smile on your face than when xur sells it. Plain and simple. All I'm saying. Don't overcomplicate it.
