After posting about the old rules of The Flood, I noticed that a bunch of people wished we wouldn't have political or religious threads anymore, since they usually become filled with insults and hate mongering anyway.
If the opportunity came up in which we could have religious and political discussion removed entirely from #offtopic, would you be for or against doing so? How would you handle the situation if they became ban-worthy?

1 답변What is the point of that? That's like saying we should get rid of shoes because they bother me There is no legitimate reason to do it

If you don't like them, scroll past them. I don't like Lil Sparrow or Fartmonkey's threads, but I don't want either of them banned (ok, that's not true, but I realize that you can't ban people just for being ignorant wastes of space). Mute people who cause trouble, and it isn't your problem anymore.
Also, bump, because this is relevant.
They just need to be watched more closely is all. I like an intelligent discussion or two and the fact that we can have them - even if they're inevitably derailed - is one thing I like about b.next. I mean back in the old days all we had were gaming threads or nostalgia threads or what have you. You had to get into one of those late night roleplay styled threads to have an actual conversation about your day or life or something. So keep them but moderate them more, or create a subforum for it - which won't happen but whatever. I do think Septagon had the right idea in creating a "serious" subforum, though I don't actually visit the site.

I have some pretty meaningful/insightful, intelligent discussions. i love those but im not a big fan of these posts since you get both extremes of the atheists and the religious nuts. both are just as cocky and oppressive as the other. if we were to ban anything though, ban the "daily scripture " stuff. that just insights all sorts of violence and what-not. i prefer open minded intelligent discussion as opposed to close minded assertiveness.

It usually depends on the situation. I wouldn't mind religious posts as much if they were put into different forum groups (ex. A group for Christians, another for Muslims, etc). Political isn't as bad since it's usually about current-day government problems/solutions, which I find more interesting anyways.
