Most people don't think the last word is overpowered. These people do not know how to use the weapon properly, but once you do it is literally the most overpowered thing in this game. How do you learn to use it properly? Does it take time to learn? Nope! Just use aggressive ballistics and perfect balance. Now fire from the hip and ONLY from the hip. A shot to the body will do 68 damage. That means 3 shots to the body is a kill. No other handcannon in the game except for Thorn can kill in 3 shots to the body and do so as fast as TLW, because no other hand cannon in the game fires faster or more accurately from the hip than the last word. A shot to the head from the hip will do 111 damage. If you get two headshots, that's a two shot kill. Since you're never aiming in, your radar is always up, and because hand cannons are very accurate from the air you can jump around while still accurately killing people in 3 shots to the freaking body.
Go on destinytracker, look at the top players in true skill, then look at what gun they're using; usually last word or Thorn. I was hoping I wouldn't have to make this post, because A) the less people that know about this ridiculous gun the better for crucible. B) I doubt anyone from bungie will notice this post. Please fix your game by nerfing this gun because it's literally the easiest gun in the game and takes all skill out of a fight that is TLW vs TLW. There is no incentive to even go for headshots with this stupid gun. In fact that's the biggest problem, the unique passive says it only gets bonus precision damage from the hip, but it actually gets bonus damage to non-precision shots as well, which sounds like a bug to me.
As a final note, I have a very high k/d, I'm #12 in Skirmish on xbox one, and as a player who actually understands this game's pvp, The Last Word is the most overpowered thing in the game by FAR. Also, if you ever actually do get around to nerfing it, go ahead and nerf the Thorn and Pocket Infinity, because they're right up there on the list of weapons that will be abused. Lets get back to winning gun fights because you hit more headshots than the other guy.
edit: To everyone saying "why not nerf everything omg stop crying":
I know that when the gun gets nerfed another gun will be the best, obviously. Problem is that you don't go for headshots with this gun, you don't even aim in. Hipfire to the body is not a skillful way to win gunfights. I'd rather a gun that requires aim and headshots be the best, that way the better player will consistently win.
edit 2: Keep the discussion somewhat respectful please :p, and if you agree with me please upvote this so that hopefully Bungie will actually see this post. I'm going to sleep now.
edit 3 (last one lol): I don't mean to sound like I'm bragging when I mention my stats, I just want people to know that obviously as someone who is good at the game I know what I'm talking about. Also, I didn't suffer some horrible loss in crucible recently, this post is just a wake up call to Bungie, because they apparently have no idea TLW is broken right now and neither do most people playing the game.

3 답변Instead of nerfing the few exotics that are worth a $#|+, why not bring all exotics up to that standard so exotics actually feel like exotics instead of nerfing everything down to basically yellow legendaries

2 답변Does no one realize it's actually getting it's range reduced with the new dlc. Just wait 2 weeks why post

Bro i knew this gun was op back in the first 6 months of this game release. I luckily got it before it was the meta and I was shocked how op as -blam!- it is. And yet nobody addressed it till this current meta. Two problems i had with it are its range and then its fan fire feature. Plus the maps force these mid to short range encounters. I remember when the bigger maps were in rotation and nobody used it then.

Not that op with damage drop off and bad ranged accuracy. It fits right between shotguns and fusion rifles. Shotguns win in close fusion at mid. Other handcannons and sr at mid or further. It's just a close range weapon. Easily countered with a better close range weapon, or by pulling them out into further range fights.

I know I'm in the minority but I agree with you completely. For one thing the range stat for this gun is WAY off. There are very few areas where it's out of range. I think after 100 yards or so this gun should drop all range completely. Anyway, why do I agree its OP? For one thing It has a time to kill equivalent to a heavy machine gun. Try this out: Play skirmish or rumble or whatever. No using grenades, no secondary, no heavy, no aiming. Just run around hip firing last word and enjoy your victory. You deserve to lose for doing this because it's a joke, but instead you can win. Unless someone else has the gun, this isn't even hard to do. This gun makes the crucible a joke.

These replies are toxic. I'd bet most saying its balanced would get destroyed by someone in the top 1000 who used tlw. Better yet... Go into rumble against a top 1000 player. They are allowed to use tlw. You are not allowed to use tlw, thorn, rd, or vex. Good luck even coming close
Hipfire to the body is not a skillful way to win gunfights.
You're right, which is why it's not overpowered lol if you are relying on hip firing headshots, your K/D will reflect that. I love TLW, but it's because of the fan fire, not hip fire. I honestly rarely ever hip fire with it, but it is good when needed. Also, you could just pull out a shotgun if they are trying to win by close range hip firing. I mean it looks like over half of Destiny players have Felwinters, use that.

3 답변TLDR - In short, OP has NO AIM and is handed a royal ass whooping every time he's up against a hand cannon, this last death just so happened to be caused by The Last Word.
