So everyone reads reviews time and time again. I've read several Polygon articles about Destiny. In the past, Polygon has stood up for destiny. Now, they no longer. And it makes sense.

Edit: Don't get me wrong. I still love Destiny and the concept. Just these changes that are a complete 180 to when the game first came out are getting out of hand. What's next?

18 답변작성자: Leeves 1/1/2015 4:25:33 PMHis points are invalid, based on unfounded expectations and he omits information to make things look bad. For example: "exotic progress is reset", but base damage starts higher than max damage was. So yes you have to relevel for the perks but you're gonna play the game anyway! "It will take a million bounties to max all of the exotics and armor!!!"...only if you equip one at a time, you can potentially level up to 7 pieces of gear at once. Which is exactly what we all did the first week. Shoot, my biggest issue was glimmer to level gear, not gear to level. Vendor gear is better than VoG gear!!! Vendor gear has been 1 below level cap since launch, his only argument here I can see is that you should feel "dissed"...which is silly. This lends accessibility. Also this is super common, he mentions WoW, 3/4 way through the level grind from 90 to 100 you replace your legendary (exotic in Destiny terms) cloak from MoP with a blue, and all the gear I've gotten to date in destiny wasn't as grindy as getting that cloak! All your previous raid gear wasn't replaced by vendor gear you had to have the special currency for, it was replaced by quest blues and greens you got by literally rolling your face on the keyboard. Edit: yes literally, I have actually put my face on the keyboard and killed crap in that game. Having vendor gear at level 31 makes the end game accessible to people, not just people who ran VoG religiously the last three months, I'm glad my GF who recently started playing will be able to get 31 so we can do nightfall and raids together, without having to go grind the old raid to get there. She has access to the new content because of the vendor loot system. "Nightfall shouldn't have DLC maps!!!" Why not? I bought the DLC, it had better! How gipped would we feel? "But I bought the original game for $60 dollars 3 months ago and can't do 2 weekly activities 1/3 of the time!" If you were paying a monthly sub fee, you'd have an argument, you aren't so you don't. You don't get to order fries from McDonald's and bitch they ran out after you've sat and eaten them for 15 minutes. You got what you paid for, if you find a few extra in the bag that is gravy. They could have locked you out of light 30+, nightfall, weekly heroic and the new exotics and you would have gotten what you paid for. "Radiant mats are super rare"....yup, first we whine because "my bank is full of ascendants!!!" Now we get a material that has a purpose beyond the first week and we whine because it is scarce, again, compared to other loot based progression games (they all have "light leveling", Destiny says "light", WoW says ilvl) you're going to be a ton of time grinding mats, except now in WoD you don't really get to grind them endlessly at all, you just get that daily cooldown, doesn't matter how much you play, want more truesteel, cogs, enchanting recipes? Just wait till the daily reset, IN A GAME WITH A MONTHLY SUB FEE! And you don't have to have 3 of 1 class to pass shards/energies between them, but you do have to decide which to level first, just like I decide which toon to feed with my alts in WoW, it's called having a main. The final indication that this guy wasn't a thinker was his last statement. Nothing inherently impossible about Destiny players going to WoW, some of us play both, but to say Destiny, FPS console kids, are going to a PC MMO is silly, Destiny's completely industry standard systems(when compared to games that have similar attributes, Destiny is fresh ground in many respects) are going to butt hurt people so bad people will switch not just games, or consoles, but platforms and genres entirely....sillyness. Don't mistake my passion for anger, don't mistake my adamancy for blindness, but lets pull our heads out and look at things evenly.

2 답변Polygon hated destiny when it first came out, then proceed to love the grind and now decided to hate it again. Pure hack website.

작성자: IronMazo 1/2/2015 7:15:51 PMPolygon didnt back destiny at all, since the launch the have a ton of articles about how bad this and how bad that, they even put a destiny screenshot at a most broken release or some crap like that and didnt mention destiny at all, so tell me why they put that as a front page image?. hating destiny now is just a popular stance to have, as anoying or repetive destiny can become at times you just need to take a break or just quit, not start making hate forum post or whining so the interwebz "give you attencion". The day i buy a game just for blinding hype or a website and said game is a massive letdown, i will take a minute to think, accept my mistake and never do it again. Dont let other people make your decisions, the day when you cant enjoy something because people tell you cant, will be the day you'll lose yourself. Stay strong guardian. Ed: grammar ;D

1 답변He makes some valid points. We will see what happens. I will say that my friend was saying we need to hit the raid to get to 32. I said I'll do the raid but I don't care about 32. What is the point? So I can do the hard raid. I don't give a shit. I'll be a 33 a week after House of Wolves comes out anyway.
-
6 답변He's absolutely right. Only two points are wrong: 1. The 300-VoG-Weapons are still Top-Tier. Much better than any Vendor-Weapon. 2. Radiant-Mats are ok, because nearly ever hardcorer has a ton of Ascendant-Mats and since you get the new Raid-Gear much faster, everyone would be 32 after 2-3days since the DLC-Launch.

This article is spot on. If Bungie pulls this crap with the next expansion I will be done with Destiny and will never buy another Bungie game. I'm sure Bungie did this to artificially extend the life of the expansion since the game is woefully void of meaningful things to do.

5 답변The average gamer doesn't care, doesn't read this stuff and is happy with destiny. Us forum people are the minority. I'm just happy house of wolves is paid for that means I can get more out of this game yet. I think if most whiners where honest, they would have to admit for 60$ they have play destiny more than most other games.

This further enforces my belief that I can't listen to videogame reviews I've felt this way ever since i noticed Madden and Cod never scored below 7.5 or 8 even tho they have the same flaws every year, and in my opinion the games have gotten worse and worse.

I still have a lot to do in the game so I'm having fun playing it, but being a developer and a gamer for almost 20 years I can't see myself dedicating another year to this game, its deeply flawed in its mmo side. It clearly wasn't planned all the way through its future life cycle, they released it and said "will finish it on the go" but its core was already limited. What I would like for the future expansion is to open new paths in the upgrade system, thats how it should be done. Say your exotic armor gives you 36 light and has 3 upgraded defense in the last column of the upgrade path, they can make it so after the expansion your armor has two more columns to upgrade, one more perk column and three more upgraded defense slots giving you 39 light, one more perk and more defense. You'll only have to upgrade the last portion, you'll have better gear not just the same but updated and you'll feel like they rewarded you with the upgrade instead of punishing you. The expansion can give you an advantage unlocking this new path, but should be available to all players.

4 답변작성자: PizzaMan725 12/31/2014 4:59:10 PMI don't really care what anyone says about a game. As I've picked up games that people call complete trash and enjoyed burning a few hours playing them. If I don't like it then I don't play it. Writing a article saying stuff that needs to be fixed is like holding a tiny sign for a interstate exit next to the exit. Yes we know it's there, we saw the actual sign a mile back now move so I don't crash trying to avoid you for standing like a dick on the interstate. I've played destiny since September, not launch because I really forgot about it since I didn't play the beta and never really looked up anything other then a trailer once or twice. I redboxed it and liked it enough to go buy it to play it more. Now with over 200+ hours I still enjoy the DLC. About as much but just spread out now, got raid boots to get 32 and I was jumping around like I hit 20. Making the buyable gear get you to 31 was dumb but if they didn't then there's a chance no one would have beat Crota till they got some raid gear. How would that have gone over? Probably just as bad as people complain about this. In the end each person playing either decides to play the game and enjoy it for what they have or stop for what they don't have.

Personaly, i still enjoy destiny alot. I will buy the next expansion in the hopes that this time the vendor gear wont negate the raid set, if they do that again, i think it will only hurt the game. Its whatever though, if destiny turns into another activision nightmare, i will have no issue playing something else i enjoy... either way, i win

1 답변Lol, yes, we might be disappointed with some aspect of Destiny, like the story and lack of character customization, but something still draws me into Destiny every free minuet I get. This game is fun because it requires multiple people to participate, therefore, allowing most individuals to experience the full effects of the social side of gaming. In addition, unlike CoD, Destiny offers a variety of things to participate in. Speaking for myself, I'll be happy to drop another $60 bucks into the game if it was resold today!
