EDIT: Simple facts: Pre-DLC I was able to do Nightfalls, Weekly Heroic and the raid, now this week I can only do the raid. So basically I can't do what I used to be able to before the dlc. I didn't purchase the DLC because imo it is overpriced and didn't want to tell Bungie/Activision that I was alright with the price and that they could proceed with giving few content at this price. You can agree or not with the DLC price, that's debatable. I'm only complaining about the fact that I used to do more in the game, I don't want the new strikes or new maps, I just want to be able to do the things I did. But I guess this is very hard to understand.
Blocking me from doing weekly / nightfall every 3 weeks is so amazing I think I'll start a petition to give a bonus to those approving this idea.
I mean I paid for an incomplete game, which I'm fine with since its a 10 year project so everything's alright so far.
But then they put out an "Expansion" that does indeed expand the game by a LOT! But I decide to wait until I buy myself a next gen console to get it since they doesn't offer free upgrade for expansion (only for the digital game) which is very also a very cool idea imo. EDIT: The Pass does transfer if bought before jan 15th, the DLC doesn't. In this new era of gaming I'm not too found of pre purchasing content..
But where they made me so full of joy is when they decided they would prevent me from playing the uncompleted game I paid 70$ + tx (I love living in Canada, I know you're all jealous) by putting one of the some many new strikes as the weekly strike.
Now I was living a dream with this game, but.... when I though it wasn't even possible to have even more than what I had for my bucks (honestly who thought it was possible, we have so much to do in the game) they decided to put one of the many new strikes as the weekly every 3 weeks!! Seriously! That's just amazing, way beyond my imagination.
We can't ask for anything better, in a few years when we'll look into dictionaries we'll be able to read a description of Destiny under "fun".
EDIT: I paid for the ability to do at least 3 different end-game activities every week, I now can only do 1 of them. So basically I get less then what I originally paid for.
P.S. I love you Bungie / Activision (whoever is pushing this new marketing system) :)

I think they're (Bungie) just lazy and/or intentionally greedy. As video game developers that they are, it shouldn't be hard to make two different Nightfalls...one for each, the ones with DLC and without it. Just similar to the ROC strikes which can only be played by DLC purchasers...yet the other vanguard strikes are still available to people who didn't buy DLC. I think they're just greedy. I'm very fortunate that $35 dollars are good enough for me to spend on the expansion pass. But I understand that others might not be quite ok with the prices. For me $20 isn't a problem and I feel ok. I also understand that many state that it's cut content and that it isn't fair for them to sell them apart...which is greedy for them as well, but that's what they did and if "I" as a costumer, not feel comfortable I just don't buy the game at all. Or if unsatisfied with the final game...just sell it or trade it and move on to another game. What's done it's been done no matter how much we all disagree. It's their game and their company and they'll do whatever they want even if it sounds bad. We as consumers decide wet her we continue with them or not. Some prefer McDonald's over Wendy's...is that simple. We choose. Wendy's might ve taken away lettuce and tomatoes from a burger. You might complain but it's their new burger and if you don't like it go to McDonald. They won't change it not even if you cry over it. It's their business. I know I'm saying this without a heart or very harshly...but I'm just being honest and truthful.

2 답변작성자: Tagonyst 12/30/2014 7:47:03 PMDon't listen to these fanbois OP. 20$ might be inexpensive in their eyes, but they have no idea what principle means. To the fanbois: if you bought a car, and it came with a radio, then one day they took that radio away and said "you don't need it to drive, and if you want it back this week you need to buy the sunroof." Would you still think "hey, it's just 20$!" ? This is called extortion.

작성자: somuchnotes 12/30/2014 7:52:24 PMI have the dlc & I agree. I see that regular folk are locked out of the nf and stuff I'm like, "well damn, that's kinda -blam!-ed up". At least give them a separate playlist instead of punishing them a week for not getting dlc lol. Everyone is being extorted.

1 답변I am okay with your principle, that you don't think what they are doing is okay so you didn't buy the dlc to show them that. What you don't realize is that you continuing to play the game is saying what they are doing is okay. In other words, your act of not buying out of principle is not working and the only way for it to work is for you (and others with same feelings) to stop playing altogether.

55 답변What?! You paid for The Dark Below content and they locked you out??? How dare you do this to your loyal customer, Bungie? As he said in the thread title, he clearly PAID for the Omnigul strike, yet you block him from playing it, you monsters?! Hold on, let me read more about this atrocious act you perpetrated before I come back to rebuke you some more... Uh... Well, this is embarrassing... It seems he actually didn't purchase the content he's being locked out of and is just being a self-entitled douche. I apologize, Bungie. Carry on.

2 답변DLC overpriced? Yeah and i bet you play CoD religiously and pay $15 for just 4 maps! If youre not going to spend $35 for the expansion then get off the game. Why the hell did you even spend $60 to begin with? And by your means, you say the DLC is overpriced for "little content" but yet you paid $60 for the game and still play it? First off, it shouldnt be the amount of content that you should focus on with your money. It should be how much time that content keeps you playing. Ive been playing Destiny everyday almost nonstop since TDB came out. Did it have little content? Sure. Did i only play for a few hours then get bored? No. It should be about how much time is worth your money. I mean for christ sakes....$20 is nothing! Mininum Wage: $9.04 Work for 2 hours and you pretty much got the money. With a degree: $20 an hour. Boom! 1 hour of work for the DLC. Either pay for it if you want all access or get off the game. Or stop complaining and play with what you have. But seriously...if you dont buy the DLC then youll miss out on so much. Itll work this way through the next 3 Destiny's.live with it.

7 답변Ok time for the sad honest truth here. Bungie does not give two craps about the non DLC players and here are a few reasons why. First, they already have your money. You paid for the game. Win for them, if you continue to play it serves them no greater purpose as it's free to play. Second, you chose not to purchase more content. In there eyes you are no longer willing to purchase their product. So why should they care what you want or think. They will market to people willing to further their profits. Third, Bungie is doing a common business strategy, Supply and Demand. They are creating the demand for you to purchase the DLC. And the also have the only supply of it. So... PROFIT! Do I agree with their business model? As a businessman, hell yeah! It's a great way of making a profit and to cater to your supporters. Make them feel special and keep them coming and paying. As a gamer, absolutely not. Charging a premium to play additional content that should have been in the game to begin with is ridiculous! This is all bits and pieces of the game that was originally promised to the consumer. You can be upset and disagree all you want, but this is the truth. If you want to continue to have the full experience of the game cave and buy. If not move on to another game. I caved due to wanting to continue to play with friends. And it's $20 not a significant amount of money to me. But to all those who are standing proud on their principles good for you! But don't expect to get anything out of it. Too many people have caved and purchased, so they will not change anytime soon.

I have the DLC and totally agree with OP - There should be separate playlists - don't tell me they can't do it or it would be too much of a phaff on either.......if they can make a game like Destiny in the first place, they can tweak a playlist.

1 답변작성자: BreadWP 12/30/2014 6:18:22 PMImagine if they did this with PS4 Exclusive content! Like if the Nightfall was a strike that only PS4 had! or if Xur was only selling PS4 exclusive items! lol that would be funny. But seriously just pay the extra for the DLC. it does transfer to the next gen systems, so no loss buddy but i definitely understand your point.

I agree man. It's a dick move on bungie's part. I just helped level my friend to level 20 and once he got there the game was pointless without the dlc. He couldn't get engrams from strikes and he couldn't do nightfall. This is not acceptable bungie.

3 답변They should have a weekly/nightfall different for the people who didn't buy the dlc. I agree they should still give the people access to these things seeing how they spent their hard earned money (parents hard earned money, lol) on this game only a couple of months ago. Yes I purchased the dlc by the way!

작성자: Camp0potamus 12/30/2014 7:05:46 PMYou paid for the content not the activities you can still access any strike and mission that wasn't part of the DLC. The activities are offered up and Bungie's discretion and they have have perequisites...Level and rights to the content.

1 답변2 things: 1st thing - You agreed to the terms of service change when you downloaded The Dark Below update. (You just pressed accept we know, a majority of players do that including myself. But the point is it's your responsibility to read it! See something you don't like? Decline the TOS and carry on.) 2nd thing - Your Titan is past the 30 cap. Obviously your using the new content!

4 답변You knew as soon as the DLC dropped, and the Omnigul strike was the nightfall and weekly, that this was likely to happen again. You knew the strike was in the nightfall/weekly rotation, that you didn't have access to the strike, and that you would likely get locked out of the activity at some point in the future. And you're still on here acting like this is a surprising new development you have no way to fix. For what it's worth, I don't agree with what they're doing either. The DLC strike should just not be in the rotation. But come on. Give me a break with all the whining. If it matters that much to you, then pony up the $15/$20 (whatever it is in Canada) and buy the damn DLC.

2 답변Didn't get locked out of a game you bought already, you got locked out of specific content you DIDN'T pay for. Nightfalls (last I checked) are a mechanic within the game requiring a specific strike map to be unlocked. When it's the DLC strike, sorry, you don't have that content and therefore cannot play said content. You have access to the game servers, that's what you paid for fyi. Read the TOS and the back of the box. Let me know where it says, "unlimited access to all Nightfall/Weekly/Events"
