AGE OF TRIUMPH EDIT
FOR NEW NECROCHASM
Step 1: Get a Husk of the Pit, typically by killing an Ogre anywhere. I got mine from the two Ogres near the beginning of the Taniks strike.
Step 2: Follow the Husk's instructions. The description will describe a certain type of Hive enemy to kill. Go and farm them. Wizards are very common in the areas around the Court of Oryx. Knights I found plenty of while patrolling the Moon inside the Hellmouth fortress. Thrall and Acolytes are pretty much everywhere, but for speed farming I can recommend the story missions The Dark Beyond and Siege of the Warmind.
Step 3: By this point you should have our old friend the Eidolon Ally. Talk to a couple people in the tower (Speaker, Eris) and level it up with motes or bounties or whatever you want.
Step 4: Well, Crux of Crota is gone, so yay for only 1 step with RNG. Kill Omnigul in the Will of Crota strike and then the bug green guy himself in the new version of the raid to get Essence of the Oversoul and finish the quest. Enjoy your RECENTLY BUFFED Necrochasm!
Below here is the original guide for Year 1 Necrochasm
Edit: So everything still works for year 3. Husk still drops, thanks to kantoga1989 for confirming.
Necrochasm is the Raid Exotic for the Crota's End raid in the Dark Below expansion. It's a similar auto rifle type to the Doctrine of Passing and Arminius D. It does arc damage, rare for a primary, and its exotic perk makes every headshot kill turn into a cursed thrall explosion. Ohhh, yes. While it sadly sits at a current attack level of the year 1 cap of 170, it's still a hell of a lot of fun to use, especially in crucible. However, unlike the Vex Mythoclast, it doesn't just drop for you upon defeating Crota. You need to evolve this weapon through a few different forms before unlocking the explosive fire hose of fun.
Tutorial to acquire:
1. Husk of the Pit
Either run Fist of Crota (The Dark Below Story Level) over and over or go into patrol on Earth (don't do this). In Fist of Crota, your target is the Blade of Crota, the Hive Knight with the stealable sword. To farm this puppy, start the mission, jump on your sparrow, and zoom past Omnibitch to the room where the Acolytes will summon him. He has an arc shield and a decent amount of health, so be ready. Once he is dead, you don't need to finish the mission, you can just head to orbit and restart the level. Otherwise, it reportedly? can? drop from regular Knights and Acolytes on Earth patrol in the Rocketyard, near where you begin the Devils' Lair strike (haven't confirmed this myself) (pretty sure this isn't true). Once you find your target, you DO NOT need to use a Black Wax Idol to get Husk of the Pit to drop, this is confirmed. If you're not getting it after a few attempts, don't sweat it, RNG is just being a bitch. (It may take quite a while, there's some horror stories in this thread.) It won't be a physical drop like an engram or a Silken Codex; rather, it will just appear in your inventory as a white rarity Level 10 auto rifle. If your primary slot is completely full, it may get sent to the postmaster without you noticing, and you may keep unnecessarily farming. To avoid this, either keep an open primary slot or check the Tower icon every few runs to see if there's a green notification. I recommend the slot method because there's multiple reasons that notification could be showing.
2. Eidolon Ally
Once you have Husk of the Pit, you'll want to upgrade it to the Eidolon Ally. This requires some XP and an item from Eris Morn (disregard that last bit). The XP only comes from killing Hive enemies, but you won't have to grind for hours and hours on end. Just run Summoning Pits a few times, or get lost in the Hellmouth. "WE'VE WOKEN THE HIVE!!!" is also a good option, as well as the beginning of Siege of the Warmind. The item (Embalming Orb I believe) can be bought from Eris once you reach rep level 3 with her. Update: Guess the embalming orb isn't a thing anymore...
3. Necrochasm
Once you have Eidolon Ally, grind it full of XP. This can be any xp, bounties or motes of light work great. Once it's full, to unlock Necrochasm proper you'll need a Crux of Crota, which unsurprisingly drops from Crota...on Hard Mode. Also, it will never drop the first time you defeat him on a character. This probably explains the Glowhoo theory.
Hope this helped!

6 답변Still works as of February 14th, 2016. You don't have to buy the orb from Eris Morn anymore. Got mine after 8 or 9 tries. Just zoned in and killed the Blade of Crota at the beginning, if it didn't drop, I'd orbit and try again. Very easy.

1 답변Just in case anyone was wondering. It is still gettable in Feb 2016. Got mine after about 6-7 tries

1 답변Do you have to use the Eidolon Ally during crota to get the crux or have it in your inventory?

5 답변While searching to see if this was still current, I decided to just start up the missions while researching. Got it on my second run, the first Fist of Crota mission on earth on normal mode. Haven't finished the quest line on this character yet, and was not under the influence of a black wax idol. This was 9/4/15
