I understand your point. But what if someone doesn't have the time for, or doesn't enjoy the Raid? But they want to play new content in the expansions like story missions and strikes, that's hopefully more challenging than previous content. But they wouldn't be able to enjoy that new content unless they played a part of the game they can't or don't want to play Or if there is someone who just loves Crucible and isn't fond of the Raid, and looks forward to the next Iron Banner as their big event. Imagine someone who plays a lot of Raid, but doesn't play a lot of crucible coming in and wiping the floor with the Crucible player just because they played a part of the game that the Crucible player doesn't enjoy. Someone who kicks a lot of ass at Crucible should be able to buy Crucible or Faction gear that gets them to 32 or whatever level. That way you can look at two different guardians, one is decked out is hard to get Raid gear, another is decked out in hard to get Crucible gear, and you can tell what kind of player they are just by looking at them. Also if you enjoyed grinding the VOG shouldn't that be enough? Isn't the point of all this just to have fun? Not to mention people who don't play VOG won't ever get to have VOG gear or weapons. They may get to level 30 without playing VOG, but they won't ever get that sweet Mythoclast or Epilogue. Those will remain exclusive to you no matter how many expansions come out.
