The 4th Horseman and Other Exclusives: The Effect
For those of you that dont know by now, in addition to the exclusive strike given to psn players from the dlc, they also get a new exclusive exotic weapon.
[b]First, let me make this clear[/b]
I am not here to complain about exclusives and that its not fair (being an xbox 360 owner) that we dont have access to these. I accept the fact the we dont have them and really dont care much. What I do care about is [b]the principle behind charging equal prices for the dlc but for less content[/b].
Now again, im not here to complain about the exclusives, as I, as well as almost every other xbox player, will be getting the dlc because I love the game. The point im trying to make is that in the future, when Destiny 2 comes out, and other games similar to it from other developers, [b]I will remember this action done by bungie[/b], charging equal prices for less content.
[b]Bungie, you will get my money now for the dlc, but let it be heard that when you get competition for MMORPGs on console systems, I will not choose you again[/b]
EDIT 1: Since people cant read and think this is a typical "whine about exclusives" thread, its not. I dont care about yhe exclusives because thats existed for a while now between consoles. What I care about is the [b]PRINCIPLE[/b] that we pay the same money for dlc but playstation users get more, and as a result, I will not be a customer for Bungie's future games.
And sure, we'll get it too, but in a year?!? Who the hell wants a gun a year from its release date? Theres guarenteed to be new and better weapons by then...

4 답변Its Microsoft's fault that THEY didn't outdo Sony in an exclusive offer. Bungie would still sell it for the same price regardless. Its a $20 dlc, but Sony pays Bungie to have exclusives.

What a lot of people don't get about exclusives is that the side getting the exclusive (in this case Sony) usually pays for the development time to create the content. You would still be paying the same price for the same amount of content otherwise. If you want to blame somebody then blame Microsoft for not stepping up.

2 답변As an xbox user, I don't have a problem with timed exclusives, just give them to us sooner. 6 months would be nice.

2 답변You should complain to Activision, not bungie. Also, you still are getting the same content, just some of it will be significantly delayed.

You're getting what you payed for....both PlayStation and Xbox are paying $20 (or $35) for 1 strike, 3 story missions, 1 new raid, and 3 multiplayer maps....that's the FULL dlc....PlayStation users just get [b]extra[/b] stuff, we ALL get the full dlc.

2 답변I agree with you. The one year dealy makes the content pointless, but we will see how much of lifespan Destiny has. I for sure can say, that I really like to play it, and enjoy, it, so I'm hating myself while I'm buying the DLC, but when Gears of War comes out, I'll never give my money to Bungie again, because this is disgusting.

Idiots, idiots everywhere. The DLC was ADVERTISED with x number of missions, 1 strike, and 1 raid along with weapons and armor. THEY NEVER SAID, THERE WOULD BE 2 (TWO) STRIKES AS DLC. THEY ADVERTISED ONE. THEY DIDNT SAY HOW MANY WEAPONS YOU WOULD GET OR ARMOR. THEY SAID THERE WOULD BE NEW ONES COMING. YOU AS THE CONSUMER, SHOULD KNOW WHAT YOU ARE BUYING. THEY TELL YOU, AND THEN PEOPLE BITCH BECAUSE THEY AREN'T PAYING ATTENTION. EVERYONE HAS THEIR DECISION. YOU HAVE THE POWER. NOW STOP BEING WHINY -blam!-S AND LEARN THAT EVERYTHING IS BUSINESS. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ These guys are getting even more annoying as the days pass.

8 답변So that's the glass half empty look, the way I see it, you get the exact same content that we pay $20 for, the missions, strike, raid, weapons, bounties. However in addition Sony paid money to have another strike designed and released to us at no cost to the consumer. You get this later and you aren't paying for it (neither is MS), so don't look at it as you paying the same and getting less content, we're paying the same and getting free content (free to us) that is IN ADDITION. If you don't like that then perhaps MS should have paid for a strike of their own? Maybe a crucible map we didn't get, or special bounties that were just for you. That's glass half full. Of course I prefer the "Excuse me? EXCUSE ME? This isn't my glass, my glass was bigger AND it was a full glass!" where we all get more content of all types to flesh out the anemic offerings and bland mission styles we have now.

16 답변You are looking at it the wrong way. Both Xbox and PS users are paying the same amount for the same content, then due to a deal that Sony have with Activision, PS users are then getting additional content for free.

2 답변The cost of the DLC in the UK is £17.50. I would put the worth of the extra strike and weapon at about £1.50. I'm not going to lose any sleep over that...

You know what? I was going to tell you something about this whole mess you're trying to justify with your post, but it looks like everyone else that has posted on here knows what's up. Might want to look into what they typed. And just for the record, people who continue to say this kind of stuff makes us Xbox players look like little kids and whiners. Deal with it and move on. Nothing you say or type will change that fact. [b]NOTHING[/b]. If you don't like it, then either buy it for the PS3/4 or trade the game in.

작성자: anthrax99 12/3/2014 5:44:26 PMlol says he is not complaining, yet proceeds to complain about the cost/content of the DLC. the dlc was going to cost the same regardless of exclusive content. but because sony said "hey bungie, do you mind making us a few extra strikes and weapons to sweeten the deal for our customer base and hopefully draw in more customers to our system? we will pay you extra for this of course. but it will cost our customers nothing extra in return. we just want to show good will to our player base that we go the extra mile to give them a better, more exclusive experience with sony, basically us saying thank you for choosing playstation and playing destiny on our system so here is a reward for your loyalty. you think you can make that happen?" and bungie was happy to take sony's money and oblige. bungie said we are going to release dlc for this game at this price point, sony thru some money at them and told bungie to add some extras to the dlc for their system but keep the price point the same. so thats how we got here today. and xbox is getting all this content too eventually, without paying anything at all. so basically sony just paid extra for the timing.

The problem is the fact that the Playstation gets exclusives for so long. A year of exclusivity? Is that some kind of a joke? As far as I'm aware, that's pretty much unheard of. 3 months wouldn't have been enough? 6 months wouldn't have been enough? No, it had to be a full year? Ridiculous.
