Cheats and Exploits

why the f*ck is it accepted that you [b]have to[/b] resort to cheesing, borderline cheating and exploiting a (shoddy) A.I. ? why? And no, this is not a tantrum because something did't workout for me. Just got 9 coins for the heroic and some nice legendary boots for my titan. Still, the way i went a about it was......[b]by exploiting the A.I.[/b] . Normally that's a ban right there, but here it's encouraged by everyone and talked about without any fear of consequence, right here. 1st guy i invited asked me if i knew where to stand so "the enemies wont hit'ya." [u][b]WTF[/b][/u] is it that? If the A.I. would respond somewhat "realistically", it wouldn't stand out so much, gameplay wise . But To knock the Big Boss at the end of the game of his platform and win, is goddamn [b]super mario.[/b]. Nothing wrong with that, only it was hm, let's see..... about 20 years ago? and the great Atheon is a dope, just like those turtles were back then. that's Some progress... anyway... im not saying i am better than all you "cheatin people"^^ it just bugs me everybody is almost pissed if you don't know how to cheat properly. Its odd....very odd. @bungie The Game had "development" issues and that is fine, but please don't defend your game until it is not so...Lacking in quality in several areas (Balancing, Story or lack there of, and so on)

  • +1 they make the enemies too bad ass that it's virtually the only way to win sometimes. Enemies should be hard, very hard but not so hard that you can't stand up for fear of instant one shot from anything breathing.

    • Shooting enemy crit spots is "exploiting", it could be argued. All exploits are viable options, and some are just quicker and easier than others.

        • People exploiting the weak A.I. is just a symptom of poor game design. Having a boss that is basically a bullet sponge with an enormous hp pool is not so much challenging as it is tedious. In MMOs this kinda works because you get a specific reward for enduring the slog and there are a lot of different bosses to conquer in your quest to get the ultimate set of gear. Here the rewards is lost to the RNG whims so without the reward incentive there is little reason to play by the rules against an enemy that is inferior to you in most ways other than having tons of HP and one hit kill attacks at its disposal and might not even drop what you need/want.

          • Technically most AI have their set routines and boundaries. Knowing an enemies weakness (AI limits) is half the battle. Most AI can't travel too far from their point of origin because that is how they were programmed. People going under the ramp in the Archon Priest fight is utilizing cover. The AI is trying to get as close as possible to you but there are obstructions in his way. The closest spot the AI recognizes is above you. However, he can't hit you from there. That's the limit of his AI.

            • I'm very much against using exploits. Why even play the game if there's no risk involved? Bungie needs to fix this exploit crap if they want their franchise to last. Make a game mode without the exploits. Remove the exploits and give a better chance at getting rewards. Just straight up remove the exploits from all game modes. Anything is better than the current situation. No challenge, no point.

            • I spoke to a group of guys who was about to do it an asked them "why" One guy answered me so to the point I had no retort. He said... "I've legitimately beat this raid approximately 10 times, each time we fought till the bitter end... and do you know what I walked out with, shards and arms [b]8 out of the 10 times[/b] also chatterwite and the Titans belt. Why in the almighty Globs names would I want to waste alllllll that time just to get rubbish again, I'd rather speed it all up as I've already proved I can do it on Hard and Normal" That response to me was the 'I get it now' moment for me.... people don't wanna waste all their time over an over again for nothing.... if it can be sped up... why not!! Especially if they've proved they can legitimately beat it on Hard and Normal

                Don't cheese it then? Its that simple.if you feel so bad about being able to do it don't. This thread is pointless and stupid. So fed up of these shit posts on here. Hardly any constructive feedback what so ever. I want raid marks, I want xur to sell this ,I can't get raid boots in a raid stop!!! Just stop the -blam!-ing crying. It's idiotic.

                • They put those in there IMO so if you do have a full party and for some reason the other two get disconnected you have a safe place to go, especially if it's on the nightfall

                    • I don't think there is any cheating unless you find a glitch. There are places to stand in real life battles to avoid gunfire. It's a talent to find the safest spot to avoid damage and inflict damage upon the enemies. I think it's smarter to find a safe zone or a way to avoid certain situations by using your brain.

                      • Some say it's an accidental design issue. The strange thing is, why is there one on literally EVERY encounter? One or two cheese methods, ok. But every boss on the game from Phogoth where no adds spawn, to shooting Sekrion from on top of the Nexus, to hiding from the Archon Priest below the platform. And the list goes on and on. It almost seems deliberately done. As to why, i guess people resort to these things (myself included) is because the bosses lack any kind of variety. As for cheesing the raid (where the bosses aren't as lackluster as the strike ones), I think that's because people are just getting frustrated with doing the raid 20+ times and not getting gear, so they find the fastest way to do it. That and finding exploits can be more fun than actually playing the game lol

                        • I do this quite often...there are certain boundaries to where the enemy will go - one classic example is where the sword is on the moon (I'm sorry I don't know the exact name of the place, but it's where the Swarm Princes are for that one mission). If you back out of the doorway to enter that room, the enemy will turn around and go back in. There are other places around that have the same AI boundaries, but that is the one I use the most, because it's a pivotal section of the Summoning Pits strike

                          • Lol. It's cheating. Templar. 15 Harpies and four Minotaurs roving around constantly. Those that die are replaced. 7 oracles that blind and Insta kill entire team. 4 Vantage points for Ai snipers. Teleporting giant monster boss with impenetrable shields. Curses and rituals and a whole lot of cheap crap. Players have grenades and a cliff.

                            • I wish the classes would take on more PvE style roles such as the titan being more of a tanking class, the warlock possibility having a few healing abilities and hunters having a few "trap" moves for the groups of adds that spawn. Until this happens, who knows if it will, we'll have to stick to our hiding spots getting little satisfaction for doing a nightfall

                              • We are forced to cheat normaly because the bosses are turned into massive sponges.. for example. Atheon. if everyone had an exotic heavy wepon and unloaded it into his chest. - while times vengence is active...... it still takes frikin ages to kill him. i mean... the strongest possible attack from 6 players should kill the bitch in no time. Most bosses: Takes forever to kill (giant sponge) and very high damage They may be stupid but people get fed up running away (even high levels) have to run from a boss because they are too powerfull. Bungie needs to make the AI Much smarter but also, weaken the bosses in line.
