My first raid, pre-patch, i had one role handed to me by experienced raiders: Keep the portals open, kill harpies.
Second time around, totally different. After the patch it was utter chaos. So after an x amount of tries we were fed up, pissed off about the randomization of the teleports and hating the Raid in general now.
Yesterday we decided to try and finish it, before the reset. And it was awesome. All of a sudden, everybody was nailing their roles, whatever they turned out to be.
We didn't finish it in the first try. But the time we did, i handled the relic myself 3 times and nailed it every time. Smashing the enemies while my peers went for the oracles, cleansing, getting out, cleansing again, hitting Atheon with everything we got...
Now this doesn't sound special to most, but the way we worked together and the contrast between this try and the previous one made it a wonderful game experience, one i had to share.
And most importantly, Bungie was right. It should've been random all along. Everybody should know how to do everything in order to clear this. I went from a patch hater to a patch supporter, only because i couldn't do it at first and could later on.
I hated the Raid, because it was too hard. But it just turned out that i needed to suck it up, level up and get better at it.
Can't wait to do the raid again. Can't wait to kick Crota's ass next month.
*edit*
Wow thanks for all the responses, great to read all the feedback and experiences.
Oh and now also realize how stupid people who cry 'plant' look lol. Believe me i wish i got paid for one topic on a bungie forum, alas...

I 'm actually a fan of the randomization too, but that small star floats in a dark sky filled with new glitches. I've never laughed harder than when I saw a supplicant come through the portal to Venus and kill one of my teammates.

unfortunately My original raid team did not like the relic, and I had to do it from the beginning, and I practiced it and learned it, and after this patch me being on the outside, was odd. we did just fine, but it was an odd experience for me.

작성자: Lancat 11/4/2014 10:22:22 PMThanks for sharing this. I've been saying all along that it'd be better with the randomization. But I was one of those who just grabbed the relic and taught myself cause I just wanted to know. I liked having the Sword of Crota, I wanted to wiz around and beat stuff up! Just way more fun fighting over who gets to have the relic than fighting over who gets to avoid it. Great story, keep hitting those challenges! :D Add me on PSN@Lanmew if you like!

While i agree with you about them randomizing it being a positive thing...they broke the hard mode raid in the process. Stroll the forums for about 2 mins and you will see what im talking about or you can go look on IGN for the story they posted today about the raid being broken.

The random teleport doesn't make it harder for me, just more frustrating. Last night was the last straw for me picking up people from the forums because I was the only one who could actually use the relic without dying. Done wasting time, I'll just have to wait until my friends are all on at once so we can do it.

Totally agree. First time I joined a raid pre patch I thought we were doing it all the way through but they ended up just wanting to cheese atheon. I wasn't up for it cause I'd rather beat it legit but I stayed out of curiosity. After a lot of confusion and pissed off Brits we finished it. I got the best loot out of everyone despite doing nothing, atheons epilogue and Timebreaker! Well last week attempted it first time legit and I wasn't even the worst person (was actually ranked 2nd in terms I knowledge of the raid) despite only doing it once. Well rough start but got to the Templar wiped like 4 times beat it legit and it was fun. Then we got to atheon and probably wiped 2 times before actually fighting him then about 15 times when we were haha. It took us a while to coordinate and have enough people realize what to do with the random tele and everything else involved.I had a lot of fun and learned a whole hell of a lot more than i would've pre patch. That's my novel for the month ;)

Yeah it's weird but I completely agree , I remember before the patch I was looking for peeps to join on an Atheon checkpoint so I went to destinylfg and saw some noob who posted "LFG at Atheon, will not hold relic" everyone should know all the roles, most raiders are just lazy and don't want to do shit to help.

5 답변Congrats, I'm glad more people are actually appreciating the difficulty and seeing that half of the reward is the enjoyment you get from killing the boss; it's not all about the loot. Working together as a team in Destiny is amazing, and I wish more people would try to coordinate instead of bitching that they can't push Atheon off anymore.

3 답변Did you get hit by any of the multiple bugs? Every time my team got our groove going, three or four successful teleports, we'd get hit by bugs like: -Atheon only teleports two of us -Oracles took no damage -Minotaurs and/or supplicants regenerated health -relic bubble disappeared Fix your sh1t, Bungie...raid hard mode is just a bad joke now.

I don't mind the random teleport as it also allowed me to learn all the roles and since then I've lead a team of new raiders through the raid from start to finish. What i can't stand is all the bugs this patch brought so I can't support it at all. Not teleporting back when you pass through the teleport, teleporting only 2 people instead of 3, cleanses not working, shield not protecting people, enemies regenerating health on killshot. That's all bs and they patch did much more harm than good. However I do agree with you that it probably should have been random in the first place. At the very least it should be random on hard.

작성자: Harakh 11/4/2014 4:54:27 PMThe only thing the people need to learn is patience, in special the pro guys if someone is in the raid who dont know how to use the relic he must learn the whole actions he/she should do, but often the experienced player are crying cause it takes so long. Learn to wipe one or two times till all have learned to use a relic.
