Ok, I'd like to first thank you for taking the time to right for the most part a very valid and good counter to the "hate" the is going around. I would also like to say that this is currently the only game I'm playing, I have Borderlands: TPS, as I'm a fan of the series, but have yet to play it. As for your credential, I trust that you wouldn't make this post if you were not who you say you are and I'm very happy that you provided us with your opinion as everyone's opinion matters, not just your's, mine or someone who made a video.
For games that I get excited for Borderlands 2, COD (until Ghosts), Battlefield, Diablo III, etc. I tend to buy the version of the game that has the 1st expansion or even the "season pass" for a game as I think more highly of it then what it sometimes turns out to be. Yes on some games I feel I wasted my money, but I've made it up on others.
So here is what I think of Destiny, I enjoy it...having said that it has a lot it needs to do if it wants to have that "lasting effect". I'm not on either side, I'm not going to speak for a million dollar company, they don't need me to back them up or back them on something that in my heart of hearts isn't what I was expecting. I also don't need idea's good/bad from random people constantly shoved down my throat, I would say their are a lot of mature people playing Destiny of all ages and gender and we all need to make up our own mind on what we feel and what Destiny means to us.
I already have the 1st two DLC's as I got the Limited Edition and yes I will be playing them, but they really need to step up their game for me to stick around long term. I play because I enjoy it, but just like if you love pizza, if you eat it everyday eventually it gets old and you want something else or are even sick of it all together. My hope, is that Bungie comes out with some great DLC and some epic story/strikes/raids/pvp gametypes. I want to see them succeed, as if they do that means I get a great game and in the end that's all I've ever wanted, was a good game, a game that I can play for the next 10+ years as that is what it felt like before launch.
I'm not speaking for the hate train or the Bungie loyalist's, I'm speaking as a gamer that just want's a great game. It's not there yet, but it sure does show a lot of promise...only time will tell and I truly like to see everyone and anyone's opinion on Destiny as that is the only way we as gamer's can actually make an impact.
Thanks for the post and the good read!
