Bungie has made it clear they will consistently capitulate to the loud crowd of people, however large or small they may actually be, who can't stomach the challenges and idiosyncrasies of a loot based game. To the 1% who worked their asses off before the youtube videos and pushing glitches, I applaud your efforts even if Bungie no longer will. Up to this point Destiny has been an amazing game. Clearly we as players have elected towards an egalitarian system where those who work to excel will get penalized, and those who can't will reap the benefits of crying as loud and constantly as possible.
In the end its just a game, but I think this speaks loudly about the future of gaming and more generally the attitudes of players (which I have no doubt carries over into their everyday lives). I can only hope that this change in trajectory will curtail the endless parades of complaints and rants. Take your victory humbly 99%, and I wish you all the best for your future attitude towards the hard truths and challenges of an unfair world.
(Percents are not to scale guys. As most people have pointed out its more likely a loud minority)
In retrospect
I was pretty salty when I wrote this. Must have been wiping my tears away with the dictionary. Yes, I should have expected this. I guess i'm a purist and a dreamer who preferred the game unadulterated. Hoped it would stay unique; i'm sure it might in some ways. Oh well. That's not the point. I'd encourage people to bring issues to forum in a different light. Let's change our tone so that when these issues arise in the future we might get a proportional response. If Bungie's listening to us, let's start giving them something worth listening to.
Addendums
As to the 1%: there is nothing elitist about determination to overcome a challenge. It's simply a choice you make. I firmly believe everyone could have persevered if they chose to. I'm just applauding the people who made that choice and questioning whether we as a community feel our standard reaction should be penalizing them due to an overwhelmingly negative responses and unwillingness to keep trying or adapting to adversity.
For the people who had trouble understanding my post and choose to insult me and my writing instead of thinking about it. All you had to do was talk to me or ask nicely. My points were about broad issues; the writing was not meant to be explicit. My word choices were perfectly suited to convey my meaning. I didn't realize that good diction would be frowned upon. Here's some bullet points for your convenience!
Bungie will give in to a loud minority.
I applaud the efforts of guardians who were willing to step up the challenges of Destiny instead of exploiting or avoiding them.
The negative attitudes of people unwilling to adapt to the game will carry over into their lives.
These same attitudes will continue to influence Destiny and the future of gaming.
If we are going to choose to have developers change the entire game instead of adapting, Its worth thinking about and discussing so the next response can be proportional.
Hope that helps, let me know if you'd actually like to discuss any of these points instead of throwing easy insults around.

Well said my friend. More people should just enjoy the game getting to the high end content rather than look for the easier method of exploitation. I had made a warlock on a friend's profile and got her to 25 but now we've moved to different areas and he's taking his ps3 with him and after looking into possible character transfers, it looks like it was all for naught. Truth be told, now that i need to do it all over, i know where to focus my efforts and can take on the early missions on hard with a weaker character cause the real strength in it was mine, not the gear. On a side note (disregarding my lack of concern towards my grammar, punctuation and run on paragraph/sentences), handguns are the best weapon imo due to their amazing hit zone and head shots are almost given to me. More players need to enjoy the fact that they're playing a game that had parts of Boarderlands, Mass Effect and WoW. That's all.

2 답변The very basis of your argument suffers from a fundamental flaw. Bungie never catered to the whimsical of a turbulent crowd. Nobody asked for the Vex weighting to be reduced in the game where you shoot AI. They asked for a reduction in the Crucible. The scenario was then investigated by the team at Bungie and they agreed that there was a problem. If the scenario projected that the vocal minority was wrong, Bungie would have laughed in their faces, took them aside and politely told them to be quiet. Unfortunately for you, Bungie's idea of gameplay differs from your own. For as long as I can remember their fixing of the weapons sandbox has always been to level them out so that a single weapon would not dominate causing other weapons to be left in the shadows. The vex was vaguely out of its box and Bungie nipped it in the bud before it became too popular, subsequently restricting the damage that it would have caused making the game too easy and destroying any hopes they had of creating a competitive multiplayer.

2 답변I really love how once they took away the pillar standing on the Templar, a lot of people didn't know what to do. Shit was hilarious. (I have never done the pillar way cause it's no fun)

13 답변Lol I've finished the raid on hard from start to finish with the same group of guys once (all legit except left arena to do oracles which is now patched) ONCE IS ENOUGH! Do you know how hard it is to put together a team that is both competent and every player has 2 hours+ to spare? I've put together 4 teams for hard and I gave up... every team was just terrible, one team no one even talked so I just left. Now I just advertise my 29 lock (soon to be 30) with atheon checkpoint looking to join a cheesing team because all I want is the helmet and atheon hard is the only place to get it.... why the -blam!- would I waste my valuable time -blam!-ing about with the now boring raid?

1 답변작성자: DucksWorthMD 10/16/2014 8:18:50 PM"where those who work to excel will get penalized" No matter how much you work you don't deserve a gun that breaks the game such as the VMC, and yes, it should be a game based on equality, all FPS should it should be as pure an experience as possible and as based on skill as possible. There should obviously be some element of disparity, better weapons, worse weapons, to provide incentive to work and excel, but ultimately, this hard work, perseverance and skill you tout about is betrayed by it's rewards, the same reward you're incessantly complaining about being nerfed, revealing a deep hypocrisy in what you say, this weapon is, what was, formerly, a piece of trash that removed the majority of those aspects. Don't penalize players for excelling, but if the reward is too lofty and undeserved, you're left with no choice.

3 답변The 99% seem to be spamming, petitioning and complaining about the AR, myth' nerf. Or is that now called popular demand and proves that they should never have nerfed them? You can't have it both ways. Ps I never cried for the nerf or any nerf I'm just sick of the spamming. Not hating just saying

8 답변Didn't they remove the cave spot which you probably whined about day after day? You didn't work for anything. It was all RNG. And you can't complain at people for spending coins and marks. And please for the love of God, put a comma in the right places. I had to re-read your sentences like, 4 times overall.

3 답변The only raid available in the game, game has not been out that long, still getting patches every other week, you know nothing about how or why they patched what they did, and here you are pointing fingers at fellow players instead of the people who made the choice to push the patches in the first place. Shut up and deal with it. Honestly do us a favor and stop coming to these forums. I'm sick of reading the same rehashed crap. Bungie can see numerical statistic feedback from the servers to help them dictate what's over used, over powered, and broken then respond accordingly. Why the heck would they patch hand cannons in mid air? Why would they patch Titan defender agility? Who was complaining about those? The server stats were probably involved. So either deal with it and be patient for Bungie to rectify what they can or seriously consider shutting up and leaving. I'm sick of you and other people's crap.

1 답변I started writing out an intelligent response, but then i realized you didn't make any intelligent points, so i gave up. In fact, you didn't make any points at all. Not a single one. You complained through broad generalizations about nothing in particular.

8 답변So according to what your saying ... wait wait let me get this right. .. They are listening to 99% (nearly all population) and not just the 1% elitist assholes. Let me see, making near all the people paying the bills happy or not. Some people I tell ya . Remove head from ass you self centered elitist.

41 답변THEY ANALYZED DATA!!!! You guys are ridiculous if you think they actually came to these boards, sifted through the juvenile inanity to create a majority opinion winner and then patched based on that. If that was REALLY THE CASE, the Loot Cave would still exist. Instead they just looked at actual data from gameplay off of their servers and realized WOW the TTK on certain weapons is much higher than we anticipated and the vast majority of players are gravitating to only one weapon class type. They decided to balance to create less clear winners and more options to vary the gameplay further.

3 답변Typical of developers today the minority whine and complain and they bend to there will and screw over the majority. Currently doing the Raid on hard saved at the last boss wondering whats the point now. Tough break mate nerfing it for Crucible fair enough but the whole game is just a joke. There people who only play PvE so why screw those ones over who have busted there ass to get this weapon. Unless it was done in 2mins using the cheat glitch, I feel for ya that earn't it.
