Final Edit:
Bungie has confirmed in the weekly update they lied but show no remorse or plan of action to make things right. Bungie has officially gone down the shitter and all that will be left is a toilet full of noobs! I'm about down with these assholes!

Edit 5:
DeeJ will be addressing this problematic situation tomorrow. Hopefully, he will reveal an update coming detailed with changes and an apology.
Edit 4:
So some of you still question the experienced players understanding that the Iron Banner is a hoax. This will shut you up for good.
Bungie fix this shit ASAP!!!
WTF!

Edit 3:
I just went into Iron Banner with my level 4 Warlock and got 10 kills vs a team of all 25+ level Guardians. I didn't even have a heavy weapon equipped and our team was outmanned 3 to 6 for half the match. If you still don't think this is a hoax of an event than I don't know what other proof you need. I didn't even have a shotgun. I had a sniper rifle which I didn't use the whole match. Just ran around killing people with my 26 auto rifle. This Iron Banner is a joke and a slap in the face to all Legends who have put in countless hours building their Guardian.
Edit 2:
So many of you were asking for proof since you refused to accept the multiple reports of this falsely advertised Iron Banner. Well, here you go.

Edit 1:
Ok. Let me just clear some things up real quick. This post was made out of anger obviously because of how big of a let down this Iron Banner has been with all the hype Bungie put forth with it. I really do enjoy playing the game and that's why it's so frustrating to me because there is so much potential but they keep coming up short constantly. It's like they took a step back in the FPS game world and left so much on the table. You would think there is only one or two people making decisions about this game and they don't know what they are doing. The good news is they have a chance to redeem themselves because actual gameplay is rock solid. It's just a shell right now and need to listen to the hardcore gamers suggestions to make it better instead of the casuals who are just satisfied with mediocre options.
As far as Iron Banner goes, the proof is in the pudding. I have played multiple more games since original post and nothing has changed from my stance and many others. It's just a normal crucible control match where everyone is the same with except maybe a max of 1% difference in damage or armor. As a 29 Titan with a 1390 defense, I shouldn't be able to be killed by a lvl 13 guardian with 2 shots from a shotty 20 feet away. It just does not make sense the way they claim armor and weapons are so important. If you are a level 13 and try to kill a 20+ PVE enemy, good luck. You will probably have to use 2 rockets, all sniper ammo, and multiple clips of primary to get him down.
There is no reason anyone should support this Iron Banner the way it is now. This is not what we expected nor do we want. We want to feel powerful if we find a weak guardian who has yet to explore Venus and still stuck on the Moon. That level 13 should get absolutely wrecked with a one shot from my Last Word that's fully maxed and he better have a full amount of heavy if he wants to have any chance.
If you still disagree with this, then I don't know what else to say. Maybe ask some of your friends for their opinions since your mind obviously made up or your head is too far up Bungie's ass to know the difference.
Original Post:
Look, don't get me wrong. I like to play this game and enjoy it but seriously, what is up with all the lies.
Iron Banner in Destiny's words quote for quote:
"LEVEL ADVANTAGES ENABLED"
"Equip your most powerful gear. The Attack and Defense ratings for your weapons and your armor will be crucial to victory."
This is 100 percent false. The attack ratings and defense ratings have 0 effect on the Iron Banner. I was dealing same damage and receiving same damage from people under level 20. I'm a 29. In PVE, any character below a 28, I can one shot kill with my Last Word. Not near the case here. NO DIFFERENCE THAN NORMAL CRUCIBLE AT ALL. Any PVE character below a 20 level would need to shoot me about 20 times before I die. Not here. NO DIFFERENCE THAN NORMAL CRUCIBLE AT ALL. Bungie even has the nerve to show you a picture right next to the quote with a guardian and his attack and defense ratings. What a f'n joke.
Oh wait. Here is a great quote from DeekJ.
"Bring your deadliest weapons. Equip your sturdiest armor. The Iron Lords are seeking the most powerful warriors who call the city their home. For those brave enough..."
LOLOL He should have just said "Equip your uncommon helmet with your common gauntlets and your 26 attack auto rifle and be prepared to feel like you have the same strength as someone with all legendaries and one exotic..." That would have been a truthfull statement compared to this bullshit.
Oh wait I almost forgot another lie by DeekJ.
"The ratings on your gear will make all the difference! Unlike the other competitive playlists in Destiny, Iron Banner is not a level playing field."
Did you not f'n have anyone test this shit? Holy shit balls. What is going on with this company? Is it run by Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles with Michaelangelo at the helm? That is a straight up lie that you told the community. What another let down this game has delivered to us.
Can't wait till December so we can play the rest of the game that's already on the disc. Should be fun. Hip hip hooray!
Great comment by Kolossal Squid:
If the Iron Banner was the event Bungie said it was going to be it would really be an event only for the hardcore gamers that have spent so much of their time playing Destiny because they love the game. They are angry because they have devoted so much time into a game they love and this event was supposed to be their moment for Legendary glory. Lvl 16 players can't play Vault of Glass, so they shouldn't be able to kill a Lvl 29. That's why those guys that have reached that level are so upset. They dedicated to work at something they love and Bungie put Noobs at the same playing field. I have nothing but respect for those that have blistered their thumbs and blood shot their eyes grinding at Destiny. Bungie should be ashamed they let down this part of their fan base. Everyone else will get their event, but this was supposed to be for the truly legendary.
Could not have said it any better.

작성자: OneCollar 10/8/2014 7:57:44 AMhuh, so im not the only one thinking of this i was just tempted to test it out by equiping my lvl 1 gear and weps and fighting off other iron banner people that 69 defence and starter rifle will bring me to victory :/

I've played iron banner pretty much all day as i am one of those grinding players. I can tell you with certainty, that the damage tables, in Iron Banner, are the exact same in crucible. My maxed thorn does the same amount of damage, it takes the same amount of shots to kill an enemy with a shadow price as it does with some rares. Armor, recovery, and agility make no difference. Discipline, strength, and intellect do exactly what they did in crucible. Nothing was changed, it's just a fancy way of saying play the control game type

Yes agreed only listen to hardcore players. Skeedskeedskeed. If those "hardcore" ppl are so hardcore why do they play a casual game without any hardcore elements. If u want hardcore get ur self a pc and go play mortal online and see what hardcore looks like. Skeedskeedskeed.

I'm surprised people weren't this angry about the combined arms "event." But, yeah, you actually can notice a slight difference in how much health / shield you and others have while playing at certain times. I def notice when players are a little more bullet spongey. It's very very slight on a 29 or 30. Then there are other times when I storm fist and then melee a guy 3 or 4 times because I need to reload and he still has health. Whereas later on in the match he'll knife me one or two times and I'm dead. Though he is a few levels lower (24 to my 28). As with everything in this game, Destiny has weird ways of calculating damage. Whatever the modifier is, it is not too drastic. It's sort of like the difference between playing a mission or strike solo versus playing with a fireteam. If you pay attention, enemies take slightly more shots or melee hits to go down. Even if you're level 28 and doing a level 8 strike, a vandal will take 2 punches from a titan or 2 to 3 pulse rifle bursts to the head to take them down. Versus just being by yourself, or on patrol or something, a level 8 vandal will take only 1 of either. It's very subtle how they've programmed damage and armor in this game. The nuance of the Damage vs Impact stat plays a factor too.

6 답변I'm confused by the notion that hardcore gamers should think that lower level player shouldn't be able to damage them at all. That's akin to asking for a good portion of the challenge to be removed. I would think that hardcore gamers who love shooter mechanics would demand more fairness, rather than saying that more play time should mean accruing more advantages. High level gear already gives you some pretty noticeable benefits beyond pure damage, like faster reloads, bigger clips, better range and stability, and more. But whatever, PvP isn't my thing. I already think Crucible is awfully similar to Iron Banner.

10 답변작성자: Nash 10/8/2014 6:59:48 AMJust a quick food for thought: If the Iron Banner would work the way you wanted, how many level 16 people do you expect to do nothing other than get instagibbed by anything that moves, just to let you play out your power fantasy and get mediocre faction gear? That's right. Almost noone in their right mind. The few games I played were already 25+. The more they scale the damage, the smaller the target audience of the actual event. In a game that is already struggling with lack of content, an event that targets a small part (high lvl players) of only a part of the players (pvp players) is not going to help.

1 답변Ive only ever seen lvl 25+ people in iron banner so far, and kill times felt exactly the same as crucible. I dont notice any difference at all

2 답변So, how does this "level advantages" work exactly? In PvE the damage done is adjusted as follows: Same level as monster 100% 1 level below about -30% reduction 2 levels below about -40% reduction 3 levels below about -50% reduction 4 levels below - enemies are immune to all your weapons! I assume this is not the case in Iron Banner?
-
5 답변Really? Because my friend performs extremely well in the normal crucible with his level 20 Hunter, but he is nearly insta-melted in the Iron Banner. The fact of the matter is that you are being out-played by low-level characters. Hell, even I have a hard time playing against level 30 players who perform inadequately overall. Also, I've yet to even run into players lower than level 25. In my first match, I melted most of the other team (I did die quite a bit too, but I rush zones). I can tell that the levels/gear matters. You're probably just not cut out for the Crucible.

1 답변Seriously Bungie, you say you listen to constructive critisicm, THIS IS CONSTRUCTIVE. Listen to these people, the people that play and enjoy you're game, who are constantly being let down by your own stupid decisions! What mind set are you guys when you come up with these things, especially when you told us straight up what the Iron Banner was going to be. So far the Vault of Glass and the gameplay mechanics are the only things solid in this game.

11 답변Deej doesn't make the game, he just sells it to people. Anyway, they should add some more disparity between attack and defense ratings to actually make this fun. Also between agility/recovery/armor, because those do literally nothing.

Well as a warlock mainly I've never really owned a titan's ass since the Iron banner an their freaking OP as hell xD but at this point nothing bungie says I take to heart I paid for a polished turd I no longer expect any thing they pitch to be as it is all glittered an shiny

2 답변My legendary weapon is still doing the same amount of damage as normal Crucible yet I equip a rare weapon and DO MORE DAMAGE! What the hell

8 답변Methinks you just suck really bad at this game? No? I Don't care either way. #GoDieNow

3 답변The game's obviously not for you. Get a game that you enjoy instead of trying to change everyone else's experience.

5 답변I am honestly glad the scaling isn't as bad as it was rumored to be. If you are complaining because you can't one shot a lower level you clearly have no sense of competitive play and balance. Player skill should always trump level and gear. Just because you are a level 30, doesn't mean you are godike in PvP. That all being said Iron banner is a huge disappointment. Basically the queens event in the crucible. The gear is hardly worth my time, even though we gain reputation fairly quickly. These "events" should be going on all the time. My faith in Bungie is starting to dwindle.
-
4 답변They never said you would be invincilbe against other players lower than you. Just that higher level players would be able to kill lower players easier, not be gods of the world.

작성자: kakemus 10/8/2014 6:15:12 AMit should do as it says yes, if I dont threat a lvl 17 as a lvl 27 like my self I can easly loose so the iron banner is rly more like normal pvp... MEANING i kould fire the same amount of bullets as the lvl 17, hitt the same amount of times i might take 1-2 more shots i guess, that kould altso be me raging after i die idk ^^,
