Hand Cannons OP?
Just wondering if anyone else feels that Hand Cannons may be OP? My friend had the Thorn, and I have the Bad Juju. His dmg is crazy high, plus he gets a damage over time proc?! The instant reload is nice, but USELESS on a boss encounter. The Bad Juju also does such low dmg it's tricky to fight Phalanx. At range they are just as effective as a Scout Rifle less accuracy and more dmg. Why would they increase the dmg of the Thorn when it's already so crazy?

People bitched that hand cannons were under powered on the beta, so they buffed them. Unless a hand cannon is legendary or exotic, the range is shorter, and you have to be closer to do massive damage. They are called hand cannons after all. Like comparing a .44 magnum or a .460 S&W magnum, to a 5.56 AR. Medium range 5.56 wins, up close magnums make hamburger. Some if this stuff that comes up I think is just perception , and not actually how the weapons are handling. Exotics are just going to be a bit better in each category of weapons, and those 2 are getting a buff.

1 답변Honestly bad juju sucks donkey dick. That was my first exotic bounty and even after fully maxing it I found it useless in all endgame situations and in pvp that low magazine -blam!-s you over if u don't get a kill for the instant reload. Handcannons are the shit in pvp and PvE but I gave up on thorn. That slow ass reload frustrated the shit out of me. I feel like of anything handcannons are underpowered in pvp since if u miss a shot 9 out of 10 times u WILL get killed lol

1 답변I don't think hand cannons are OP, but Thorn is pretty nice in the crucible though. While everyone is spraying and praying with their Suros Regime's I'm usually able to space out two headshots so that the damage over time will kill them. If it wasn't for the damage over time, I think it would take between 3 and 4 shots for Thorn to kill and considering hand cannons normally have a slow rate of fire so I wouldn't consider them OP, in all honesty I'd prefer an auto rifle over most hand cannons in the crucible.

3 답변They are a marksman weapon, You trade off high rate of fire for precision shooting and slow reload speeds. All exotics across the board are getting a damage buff to differentiate them from legendary weapons since they all have 300 attack. As for the buff, I guarantee you thorn won't be getting an insane damage buff, that was never explicitly stated. I am going to assume it will either get a buff in reload speed, or the penetration rounds.

5 답변작성자: Griff 10/6/2014 12:28:32 AMThe impact is what makes the crazy damage, my rare Regulator was outclassing my legendary Cryptic Dragon scout rifle easily. The Regulator had a damage of 213 with a nearly filled Impact bar and the Cryptic Dragon had a damage of 248 with half Impact bar. As for the Thorn, it has aspects that make it...not so great. The mag and reload speed pretty much suck unless I have my Gunslinger's Chain of Woe...

9 답변First of all, you are talking about exotics and making a blanket statement on all Hand Cannons? Why not instead ask "Is Thorn OP?" Secondly, Bad Juju has been stated to be... well.... bad. As far as I am aware, Bungie actually intends to buff it because it is sub-par for an Exotic. Given the limited range, low ammo (both in the cylinder and in total capacity) and the longer reload times, I don't find the Hand Cannons to be overly imbalanced. Of course, I also happen to like Hand Cannons, so I might be biased in their favor. I'm just waiting to see how they adjust the Scout Rifle, because a damage bump to the Scouts would be very nice.

12 답변Hand cannons are perfect. Literally perfect. If Bungie nerfed any part of them, no-one would use them. If they buff any part, they would be too powerful. Hand cannons should be left alone. For ever. And the DoT on Thorn does crap damage. Bad Juju and Thorn are both getting buffs in the next big patch I believe.

7 답변just close the thread. Too many kids whining that guns are OP i cant wait for iron banner to start, this forum is going to explode with little bitching kids complaining that every single weapon in destiny is OP.

A thorn in a boss fight is meh. The reload time is too high. The dot dmg is way too low. As hunter you need headshot kills for a faster reload. As titan and warlock you need your melee. So if there aren't trashmobs the thorn is not so effective.

1 답변Juju already sucks, so pretty much anything can beat it atm. And its probably just a mag size buff on thorn.

4 답변작성자: DukeOfStuffing 10/5/2014 11:19:13 PMNot quite, but the Bad Juju is getting a buff soon. Also, thorn may have a high ROF, but the stability, reload, and ammo capacity are atrocious. Other hand cannons are far more effective in the long run.
