I picked up red death from xur for the cost of 23 strange coins and took it out to the vanguard tiger strike to give the gun a test run. First opinion, The gun shreads!!! The damage output is outstanding and the gun is super easy to control. The upgrades on it will make this weapon a force to recon with in pve for sure. On the downside the rate of fire is clunky and just down right sad. Its very slow, so unless you have a good shot and a decent amount of space between you and whatever your shooting, you will be in trouble in most close quarters battles.
I then took red death to pvp to test its almighty might against my fellow guardians. This is where I would strongly advise against the gun (personal opinion) I will admit at a range of over 100 feet or so the gun will melt people however, if they have two thumbs and can jump out of the way of at least one burst your more than likely going to die. I managed a decent round of 23 kills and 10 deaths for my test run but I had to adjust my play style drastically in order to salvage any kills. The rate of fire on the gun was the biggest draw back in pvp and I found myself losing 3/4 of my gunfights if I was shooting at more than one person at a time. In a one on one the gun stands a decent chance but if they can get on target first the damage output doesn't compensate enough to help you overcome the slow rate of fire and you will find yourself in ghost form sooner than not.
I will once again say that this is all just personal opinion of course. I would suggest this gun for pve as a solid support weapon used for hammering enemies from a medium range. The gun has some great perks to it that can really help out in a pinch but overall it doesn't stand out as much as other weapons due to such a severe drag in the rate of fire. As for pvp honestly I would probably pick up an auto rifle or a different pulse rifle because this gun just doesn't have the feeling of a slayer weapon that you would expect out of an exotic weapon.
The overall opinion is this " Red Death is an outstanding support weapon if in the right hands. The gun is powerful but slow on delivery. This weapon can leave the player with a feeling of wanting a little more bang for their buck. For the price of 23 strange coins it may be better to leave on the shelf when gearing up for the crucible."
Verdict: I give the gun a solid 7/10.
Pros:
Powerful feeling and great damage output
Buttery smooth handling
Sexy external bloodstained finish
Great level up abilities
Cons:
Slow rate of fire
Sluggish reload times
Cost of purchase

1 답변I brought this gun from xur, wish i didn't. I also have strange suspect maxed out, this gun shits all over red death, faster fire rate and same damage the only thing red death has is slightly better perks, im keeping both. I got the fusion rifle bountie last night, looking forward to an exotic fusion rifle. But ill get a legendary also so i can swap in and out what ever gun i want.

26 답변The gun sucks.. any veteran destiny player can tell you this. Rather have suros. If your a real boss you'd know Fatebringer or TLW is where the true power is at. And you get girls. .cause it looks amazing.

2 답변I don't like red have two..... Was hoping it would be good for VoG... Cuz the perk is good just does not do damage fast as a hand cannon or a auto

3 답변작성자: OccamsPhazer 11/2/2014 5:11:20 PMFinally a Pulse Rifle that I can take to the field and kick ass with. Red death is a superb weapon. Up until this point I've mostly used hand canons, shot guns, and scout rifles, do to the lack of stopping power, which seems the case with every pulse rifle up to this moment. I did not pay for this weapon. I got it while doing Glass.... But... I would buy this weapon, hands down, absolutely, and with no reservation. Red Death reminds me of, and has a similar feel and action, to the BR from Halo 2. Brapp Brapp Dead !!! That's the rhythm with this gun. I've noticed that people do not fear the sound of a pulse rifle, so in many a game i would find combatants continually running towards me, brushing off the damage to get in close for a special attack or a shot gun hit... NOT anymore! This gun can stop a rhino on crack! Close range or medium range.... doesn't matter. If your a BR kinda guy, and know how to move and shot level, your'e dropping bodies... and on top of that, if your a head shot specialist, people are gonna hate you and your Red Death. And that's stock--- I haven't even had an upgrade yet. Sure, it has slower rate of fire... but it is not slow! And it certainly makes up for any speed issues with pure raw stopping power! And not for nothing, this guns rips shields down very quickly... then melee attack for dead. Also. This gun fires smooth and level... almost no recoil or kick back at all. Just head shot head shot dead. As mentioned, not great long range... but... its not a sniper or a scout, its a burst weapon, so every consecutive round deviates somewhat, and at longer ranges this becomes an issue... first round hits, then miss 2 and 3, this renders any gun less effective. For me- the only draw back is.... a sluggish clumsy reload sequence. And that is an acceptable trade off.... Over all score- 8.5 out of 10, maybe even a 9. I simply have not played with a better pulse rifle! OccamsPhazer- Warlock LVL 28.

4 답변I've was going to get it but I have the Strange Suspect legendary pulse rifle and the only stats that out weigh it in the Red Death is range and maybe impact. The only redeeming quality was the health regen but it wasn't worth 23 coins for me. Ima wait for next week.

1 답변Red Death is a lot like Hard Light. When you first obtain it, it's not super-duper awesome sauce. But start getting upgrades for it and you will start to see it pay dividends. It's a precision weapon with impact comparable to a Scout Rifle, which is where it stands out above all other PRs, even Bad Juju (despite it's upcoming buff). If you're not akin to aiming exclusively for the head this gun isn't going to do you any favors, but if you are then you will enjoy a weapon that hits hard with each burst. I would say how well it fairs in PVP, but everyone uses ARs and Shotguns right now, so I'm not going to even bother until after the weapon update is deployed. ALSO to add to this, if you're a fully upgraded Gunslinger, you will LOVE this weapon. With Chain of Woe & Gunslinger's Trance active, you get faster reload & increased stability with each precision kill (which should be most of your kills with it or you're doing it wrong), which makes it twice as effective. Add to that the Red Death perk itself that heals with each kill and you become a gunsliging god of death.

After its maxed out its a great gun for the raid to kill adds as it heals you up. The RoF is still not too good but it hits harder than other pulse. PvP its a mid to close range gun but a heal on a kill has stiff company from suros who "has a chance to heal on damages" there is alot of "chances" in its mag...over all very happy with this gun.

1 답변If you're bad with the red death in pvp, your accuracy sucks so don't complain about the gun, complain about your lack of skills

Lol its my go to pvp weapon, the red death perk is incredible and I've managed to pull off several 2 burst headshots with it. Is all about gently pulling down on the right stick when you shoot to balance out the upward movement that puts the last bullet above your target. I beat suros and all hand cannons with it, the exception being hawkmoon.

작성자: Flyindutchm3n 10/29/2014 6:09:51 PMRed Death and I have developed a relationship... I got mine in the raid and haven't put it down since, its fully upgraded, and I love it. It has some great perks, with the ceramic round plus the bonus to impact it staggers everything it doesn't happen to kill in two shots. With the better zoom and quick scope it becomes more accurate for precision work. However it does have some down falls. I would like a little more range and a slightly faster firing interval. Its biggest perk is one that isn't even mentioned. IT CAN TWO SHOT IN PVP. But its tough to do it you need skill. Its not the girlfriend gun like Suros...
