Thorn, The controversial Gun
People dont like it because its weak. Dont like it because the bounty is hard
Its meant for the skilled, those who are worthy. Only few can see its true potential. Others might have it, but they only see it as a gun
What do you think of the Thorn?

I've got one. Never used it as I prefer auto rifles or my scout rifle I got from the raid. But I have to say that the bounty was a bitch to do. Hardest part for me was the 500 points with void damage. I only had a void sniper and took me a few hours. Apparently it gets better the more you upgrade. Will give it a go at some point.

got it yesterday, I want to like it but so far it seems worse than some of my rare hand cannons. Maybe once I upgrade it a bit it will feel better, and Bungie said that they will buff it so I'm looking forward to that as well.

5 답변I love it. It was the gun used by a champion of the Crucible and well, so am I, so it is in fitting hands. Don't believe me? Check out my recent game history. Been playing Salvage and Skirmish all day. I don't lose. I don't go negative. My K/D is consistently over 10.0. I am the true inheritor of the Thorn. But seriously, gun kicks ass (and so do I).

They really need to add custom matchmaking so we can 1v1 and we can really prove if these guns are really good. All you guys say you can pull off these sprees but how many times have you been beaten by an auto rifle or better yet a shotgun?

1 답변It has to be the absolute worst hand cannon. Firerate is fine, impact is great, range is awesome, stability doesnt matter, but then, you look at the magazine and reload. EVERY other handcannon can out-DPS the thorn, because of that awful reload.[spoiler]Its still better than the invective or bad juju, tho.[/spoiler]

1 답변I think it's weak specially compared to guns like hawkmoon or lord high fixer. It's ammo, low stability and slow reload are shamefull when compared. It's a shame considering that it fires fast, but has a nasty kick and the dot dmg is pretty weak outside of pvp (I've never died from it) perhaps after the buff I'll take another look. But for now my hawkmoon is my go to weapon of choice for the crucible.

I have it upgraded to the Mark of the Devourer and I gotta say...the people who say it's awesome must be pretty disillusioned thinking it's good. The thing is crap. I can kill way better with my Devil You Know...and that gun is just a legendary vanguard weapon...that you can buy with marks and it has 12 bullets in each mag. The Thorn needs a buff, end of story.

1 답변I find it funny how people think the Thorn needs a buff. Its amazing as it is in PvE and the crucible without a doubt. And in the crucible if you have the DoT upgrade 3 shots to the body is a guarenteed kill. Given the power of it in a skilled players hands giving is a reload buff would make it op and people would cry for a nerf so Bungie might as well leave the stats the way they are.

It simply overpowers every other primary weapon in PvP (even the most OP of auto rifles) with its great DPS and DoT (which can also be used strategically), while its penetration is super useful in PvE alongside its great bursty damage. Fully upgraded, it's an incredibly stable hand cannon which lacks in only magazine size.
