Agnostics would probably rule if religion didn't exist. Not that there is anything wrong with that, but life would be, kind of boring without "meaning". Hence, religion was created!
Well, Christians believe Adam and Eve were the FIRST humans, right? So why in EVERY depiction of the two do the have belly buttons? Belly buttons mean they had of been birthed, theres a hole in your religion
Nobody would have morals because nobody would fear eternal damnation after death. It would literally be anarchy. I'm atheist but religion is good for one thing for sure, and that's keeping people in line.
Maybe if we could just get rid of the people that take it to far.
You got some who mention it if it comes up and that's it
Then you get some that think movies like God Is Not Dead accurately depicts how people that don't believe in god are.
I think in modern times we would be better off. Conservative Fundamentalists arguing religion vs. science need to stop. It accomplishes nothing, is slowly losing effectiveness anyways, and just hinders scientific progress. Have your goddamn faith, I'm not trying to fück that up. I just want to find out why shit happens in an observable way. Stop telling me I'm wrong because I don't listen to a book written in antiquity. I'm not trying to insult anyone from any religious background, but you have your ideology, and I have mine, leave me in piece. I don't go out attacking people who are religious, many atheists that I know don't do that either, and there has never ever been a group of scientists to say "hurr durr religion got rekd m8". The only time I've been insulted for being an Atheist is by people who can't even understand how to logically articulate their arguments. It's just ridiculous. I'm not saying I'm right, I'm saying this is how I want to think, do not insult or degrade my presence because of it.
That being said, I do not believe humans would have advanced as much as we did if we did not have religion during early western civilization.
