Ummm I would like some days off at work so no I don't want to imagine life without religion. Plus it also has it's way of dealing with population control. *acoughisiscough*
There would be a lot less war. The world would also be way more peaceful because there wouldn't really be a main reason to hate someone for other then their actions. People would be a lot more self reliant because they wouldn't be praying to someone for them to do something, instead they wi go out and make a change. We would also be much more technically advanced because the generations before us didn't allow a person to experiment, question the way society looks at things. There would also almost be complete equality of all genders and races, because people usually see themselves better then those of a lesser society because they believe something they don't. And it was also religion that began the inequality between men and women. (Contrary to most feminine belief, men aren't born to see themselves better then woman, its the way our society is, which has been shaped by our ancestors and ancestors religion)
I hate it when I tell people I'm catholic, and they're like "don't shove your religion down my throat", and then 2 minutes later, they start shoving atheism down mine
If religion didn't exist, people today and years ago would not fear going to a bad place or having to "please" a god/gods/higher power, and we'd have a LOT more crime then and now.
Sadly, religion is the glue to society. We aren't advanced enough to have common sense. Also some people are crazy and need to be controlled.
Personally, we should be like the Spartans and only allow the perfect genetics survive.
I see it depressing. Atheists believe the world will never improve unless we abolish religion, but then no one would have anything to believe in.
YAY THERE'S NO HOPE AND WE HAVE NO REASON TO EXIST!
