If you're going to stagger your content, make sure there is enough depth at the core to keep your core players satisfied until updates arrive.
If you're going to update, make the updates worthwhile. Don't keep stringing your core players along, saying that you're listening to feedback, but doing anything other than taking that feedback into public consideration. Actions speak louder than words.
If you're going to patch out the most bearable component of your drop system, take the time to understand why players are resulting to this "exploit." Take the time to understand that it's because the rest of the game does not reward players relative to challenge whatsoever.
Understand that when players feel no reward for their efforts on challenging content, there will no longer be a desire to use any of that content. Most bounties and missions are slowly becoming outdated because after a while players are realizing that they are hardly benefited at all for enduring the challenge.
Having no rewards gets old and makes players feel, especially in a game where rewards are players only tickets into content (that players are now finding unfulfilling and not worthwhile), like the game is entirely out of their control.
Please take the time to understand that videogames are meant to be controlled physically and mentally. Decisions made are entirely dependent on incentive. A video game without control in the hands of the player might as well be a movie. And a movie with an unfulfilling story is usually not a very good movie.
Your core players can be defined as the majority of players (based on comments, community conversations, and reviews) that didn't buy Destiny because they heard from a friend it was good. The same majority of players that purchased it on release because of what they were told this game would have. Because of Bungie's name being one they felt they could trust, and because of the representatives at Bungie these players had seemingly no reason to believe were stretching the truth to the limit.
With all of the awful reviews, and all of the negative complaints and gripes with core game fundamentals, and with all of the toxicity within the main community, these core players are your only chance at this game surviving the end of 2014.
If you don't want to lose your players and have a tarnished name from this game going forward, I highly suggest (as a fan of Bungie's since Halo CE) that you start trying to appease these gamers. At this rate, you're losing them and a lot of them see you as lying sellouts. If this trend continues, it could very well result in a permanent stain on anything you guys do from here on out.
Will this ship sink or will it sustain? That's ENTIRELY up to you, Bungie. You have control over your own Destiny in this very moment. This isn't a threat at all. It's a warning of what many are seeing as an easy probability.
Please don't let this be the equivalent of the Titanic in video game form. For us and for you as a corporate entity.

I agree with everything said here, I'm PvP 27 and can't level without ascendant materials, but can't even get them now. Challenges aren't always difficult, and to me games like dark souls is not fun, and frankly the fact loot is even more scarce now is like taking a dump in my coffee. I have to work and barely get to play, and now it feels like I shouldnt even play

7 답변you are absolutely right! this game was promised to be so great, but it really sucks instead! even with patches and updates and levels that are -blam!-ed up, nothing will help! in fact, I feel like I paid $100 for a pile of shit! not to mention two controllers, a headset, and my hand is now -blam!-ed! bungie, this is all on you because I even contacted activision, and they left it all up to you, so have fun with that! hopefully you heed the requests of us gamers and do something about it, or -blam!- YOU!!!!! bungie, -blam!- you!

Destiny is by no means perfect and its not old enough to be so but at this rate it will die put pretty soo. First off loot cave exploit being only way to obtain gear well, totally false me and lots of others have few exotics and full upgraded leg gear etc by doing nightfall, weeklys, raids. What the loot cave is is the way to get end game gear when you dont have the stomach to go up against the harder activitys. New garunteed enegram seems good on the surface but unless they turn down the drop rate hugley itll become a problem in the long run as people will be maxed out in no time. An to the point about your gear not mattering to other players and how you obtained it, unless you dont want iorn banner to ever be introduced it matters because by shooting in to a cave or exploiting you dont deserve the perks that say some one who dose reguler raids or nightfalls etc as they did the hard work for it. This isnt an mmo people its an rpg and grinding is fine aslong as the results are really slow so you cant sercomevent the hard tasks to obtain good gear. I dont mind playing how you want too and takeing the easy route if you want too but the rewards should be relative to the hardness of the task at hand. My two cents

OK I'm only doing this once, because if you're good at something you should be paid, and I would make an excellent creative director or consultant: I will give you MAKE THAT GIVE YOU every, EVERY easy solve to fix Destiny. First character appearance and overall unique identity and performance: Exponentially more shaders, ghost, ship and sparrow skins. Second: loot issues, yes I understand green is shit, even decoherent engrams that have a 'possibility' of legendary, turning up fail every time is acceptable, but to have gotten legendary engrams at a minute fraction comparitively and still turn up fail IS FULL ON DOGSHIT. Who the -blam!- do these troll/fag/nerds think they are? Worship my god. . . Err mean game for 80 more hours and you MIGHT get purple or yellow? There IS NO OPEN TRADE SYSTEM, why does it matter which items I have unless I'm playing Iron Banner which STILL has'nt made a post launch appearance? Ships. . . Shouldn't ther be space combat or at least a mini game in-flight, or shaders at least? Planets. . . 3 of 9 and one moon? Epic. . . TRULY. I could go on for ages, the creative director needs to be fired, hire me and people would NEVER stop playing this, I'm talking sparrows that transform into shields on landing, shotguns that discharge hovering time bomb pellets, sniper rifles that leave damaging trails of energy and much, much more. Get some -blam!-ing creativity you worn out hacks. Or just punch people and take their incoherent wallets cause this shit is blatant robbery.

1 답변Thank goodness you made it clear you weren't threatening Bungie. Whew! I mean everyone was worried about the shit about to go down until you made that bit clear.

33 답변There were plenty of people who hit level 29 without the queen or cave. Getting ascendant materials from legendaries is a ridiculous concept in its entirety, unless you lower the rate at which legendaries were acquired. Playing 5 minutes to get 2-5 shards was way too rewarding. All these new players want a quick way to end game content, without the work. From the start Bungie said they wanted you to work for your gear. The loot system seems random, allowing bad skilled players to get those lucky 1-2 exotics (which everyone complains about), BUT in the long run those bad skilled players are still going to be behind the good ones who are capable of beating the raid and other hard tasks. I hope all these whiners leave. It's people like this who ruin a game that's enoyable for months, turning it into a one week pump and dump. If you want to do this, go play another game, I wont miss you.

3 답변Tried Vault of glass? It does reward players for doing difficult tasks with raid gear and weapons. Level up your vanguard or crucible rank? Rewards you with legendaries. Weekly Nightfall Rewarded with legendarys and 25% XP boost to any reputations or experience gained as well as 15 vanguard marks and 500rep. Again how are you saying bungie isn't rewarding "core" players with great gear for difficult tasks. Bungie DOES reward players who do difficult tasks. Quit crying about the loot system. You're not suppost to get all your gear from level 8 trash mobs. You're suppost to work for it and earn it and feel rewarded for putting the time and effort into the difficult tasks. Any faction rank two. Buy legendaries. It's not that difficult to get gear.

Making a game with the intention to update isn't about "your vision" of what the game should be after the game is released. Once that type of game is released you are meant to mould the updates around players rather than what "your vision" and if something the players want is mechanically stupid or takes away your uniqueness then you ignore it. A major problem arises when Bungie's (or at least their designer's) vision IS mechanically stupid and they think it isn't. IMO: This game will be another Halo 4 and the shotgun nerf, while not as bad as it could have been, show intent to make the gameplay just another generic modern rifle shooter.

6 답변I rather think the issue is that Bungie put the cart before the horse with loot nerfs. They're a knee jerk reaction and shouldn't have been implemented until the end game gearing system was fixed. It's a matter of priorities. The game has a lot of room for improvement, and they're focusing on the wrong thing. It was a PR nightmare because the loot caves got a lot of news coverage and were shining a light on how bad the end-game loot system really is. We need them to: Fix the loot system. That means guaranteed drops for named mobs and bosses, higher cap for rep marks/glimmer, more consistent engram decrypts, diversified rewards for bounties, etc. Nerfing spawns and engram drops to discourage farming is putting the cart before the horse. You give incentive to stop farming by fixing the loot system instead of focusing your efforts on punishing players who are trying to work around it. Add a significant amount of content. We need WAY more than one 3-mile linear zone per planet - especially if they’re only going to give us four planets. We also need a lot more story exposition, and the grimoire needs to be available in game. Tweak bounties to ensure they can actually be completed at the time they’re given. No Skirmish bounties when the game mode is unavailable, etc. Expand Voice Chat. I understand the concern for griefing, but it shouldn't be difficult to automute people for a day/week if they’re reported for being abusive repeatedly within a window of time. Zone Maps. Seriously? We have to ask for this? More unique encounters. No more waiting for Dinklebot while wave after wave comes at you. Crowd control? Strategy?

작성자: smahbleh 9/26/2014 5:32:38 PMAs a level 27 Hunter, nearly 28, I have a few problems with the patch but also look forward to it. PVP patches I am all about. I prefer the scout rifle (and any DMR in FPS) but have not used it because of how lethal auto rifles are...very glad to see the scout being buffed up. Also love seeing the shotgun range go down because those babies are OP even more than auto rifles in my opinion. Lastly, THANK YOU FOR FIXING BAD JUJU AND THORN. Moving on... Now the PVE. This is where Bungie straight failed, again. Less grindy strikes....fantastic but why only fix the grinding aspect and not the drops for beating a strike?? Queens Missions... just c'mon. If you want to remove the shards from dismantling the gear then you should make the gear upgradeable without shards. Legendary is legendary. Bungie argues they don't want people to already be done leveling a character but it's a ten year game and anyone can make up to three characters. I play this game a heck of a lot and I won't have three fully leveled and geared guardians until the second DLC comes out. And frankly, that's optimistic. Not to mention in one day someone could go from 20 to 29 based on luck of the RNG. Really glad to see the cave gone but I'm also not glad because I have all of my gear (all legendary with an exotic) to thank for it. Strikes and daily missions are completely unfulfilling via drops, but they do help give a player experience for the raid. The raid and weekly nightfall strike are the only things I have yet to do. Not because I can't do them but because my friends cannot. The loot from the cave helped me but my buddy was a level 23 for a week; all while I was CONSTANTLY getting purple drops. My friend almost stopped playing the game with me because he became so infuriated. Have you ever thought about that aspect, Bungie?! If the RNG won't change based on how much someone plays then there needs to be a way to challenge and reward players. Plain and simple, it's a MUST. You already made strikes, Bungie, make them worthwhile. I love Destiny, but I also hate it. So many things seem promising and PVP is fantastic IMO. PVE is a wounded animal that's slowly bleeding out...practically hopeless unless the next patch comes and changes things. All in all, I loved Halo and Halo 2 but dropped the series after that. I bought this game hoping the 10 year span would result in endless game play but I may only make it to March (since I already bought the first two DLCs). The best way I can describe this game is imagine standing on a boat and thinking you're about to jump into an abyss and when you jump in, it's only knee deep. Bungie clearly has their own priorities ahead of the gaming community; if they truly cared they would take the minor hit that shortens leveling gameplay to ensure players comeback. It's bad for business to open up and immediately spit in the face of your patrons.

10 답변IF YOU DONT LIKE THE GAME... And yes. It's a computer game... THEN DONT PLAY IT NIMRODS. PLAY SOMETHING ELSE.

1 답변A thought, if they stripped story from the game for DLC, it likely still exists in the core files. This could be the reasoning behind running a late PC release, as we well know, PC users tend to poke into game files and find all sorts of embarrassing things for companies. I am not that tech savy, but what if someone was able to look into the files on the console game, would they find the so called blocked off content?

the games been out a little over two weeks and i am lvl 29 and could be 30 if i get 2 pieces of raid set gear.. I have no challenges left and pvp is becoming rediculous.. I loved the content up till now, but now there is nothing left to work towards.. (And dont say, "create another character".. im not about to repeat everything i have already repeated 5 times each..) no long-run bounties to obtain, no private matches/custom games to satiate my need for competition in crucible with great players or competitions, idk it just seems dead here at the top.. at least in halo, the focus was on player vs player interactions and competition.. that is why the community thrived, they took the game in their OWN hands and created with it what they wanted to do.

26 답변Why do people always need a shiny reward to feel special after overcoming a difficult challenge? Surely the satisfaction of knowing you and your friends (or random team members) are good enough to beat the challenge is enough? If you got better gear each time eventually it wouldn't even be a challenge. Remember when games used to just have harder levels and all you got for beating them was another level to beat. Hell some games didn't even have save points way back when so every time you played it you had to start from the beginning again. I'm not saying there aren't any issues but just stop and think about how spoiled you sound. Do you so favours for people only if there is something in it for you? Other than the satisfaction of helping a mate out?

I couldn't agree with you any more. This article perfectly sums up how u and my group of friends feel about this game. It had such promise, such potential to be a game that defined a new genra of first person shooters. But sadly it feels like bungie has sacrificed a great, rich, video game experience just to milk it for more money. I'm sad about where this game is heading. How could such a great company like bungie the original creators of halo make something so disappointing as this.
