I just read about Richard Dawkins. My thoughts: he's an idiot. I mean come on. Has ANYONE heard of Pascal's wager? Why would anyone not believe in God? Perhaps it's because, in their arrogance, they forgot one of the most precious rules of philosophy, YOU CAN ALWAYS BE WRONG. There is almost never a guarantee of correctness. It doesn't seem logical to risk an eternity in hell because you're too friggin cocksure. For a group that claims to be very rational and logical, they do not understand the idea of self preservation. It just irritates me that people would follow that kind of idea.
Edit: I have thought some more about the question of whether religion causes wars. I think it does. But also, think about the fact that science caused the holocaust. Science caused the many horrible deaths in world war uno. So, basically, wars are inevitable (kind've obvious). Religion and politics start wars, science fuels them. They're both equally too blame for wars.
Edit: I guess I view the religion argument as a sort of war between hope (religion) and resignation (atheism). I guess I'm just stubborn enough to not just give up and say that there is no God. I have faith because I am unwilling to not believe something simply because of all of the problems it has. And some may call me an idiot for it, but I believe in God because I'm afraid and hopeful.

If God says we have our own will and can believe in what we want, then let people believe in what they want and leave them alone.

Yeah I know pascal, which is why I know it is absolutely moronic. And if you're truly interested in philosophy, how can you so blindly believe in a specific god? You could be wrong.. As you said. Question everything. Take more philosophy classes. Don't stick your head in the sand BC of fear

science caused the holocaust? I really hope you are joking. It was caused by a madman and other like minded individuals. Germany at the time was a failed state when Hitler rose to power he used the Jewish people as a scapegoat for why the nation was failing (In truth this was because of the poorly thought out treaty that ended WW1 in which most of the war debts were placed on Germany, even though they were not the only ones at fault thus destroying their economy) as a result the derision and hate of the people there enveloped the Jewish people and others which eventually led to the deaths of millions of innocent people. Now onto science itself, Science in it's essence is neither good or bad it only becomes one or the other once humans get involved so if anything blame the horrid individuals who carried out the experiments not science itself.

15 답변People don't believe in God because the bible and Jesus said they wouldn't .... There has to be both when free will and a choice is given.

13 답변Religion is refusing to accept that when you die, you die. Do you honestly believe that there is some higher being that created us and gives a single -blam!- about any of our lives.

12 답변How the -blam!- did science start the holocaust!? If you are so anti-science, burn your phone, computer and tv for being objectives of "dark magic"

8 답변I believe there is something more to life than we think, a deeper purpose and meaning to it, that we may just not fully understand yet... one day the truth will eventually be revealed, but until then, continue to question, no matter what it is.
