How many of you actually believe that a team of so called "professionally skilled" raiders could not finish the Vault of Glass in 16 hours? As soon as I heard this, I knew something sounded fishy. 16 hours just sounds way too over-exaggerated. I am not trying to bash on Bungie's level design, but this team probably beat the Vault in a few hours and lied about it for hype and nostalgia purposes. Again, not saying this is what actually happened because I honestly dont know, but 16 hours just sounds a bit off. If that is the case though then i'm prepared to face the darkness that stands in my way................... and hopefully come out alive.
Edit: After seeing the same reply's over and over again, you guys obviously are not understanding the purpose of the post. It was meant to be a somewhat humorous thought about raids. I realize that they could have taken multiple tries and I also realize that they had no experience with the game and were probably set up with weaker gear.
For all you people who like to bash others for their post, maybe you should know the difference between whining complaint/trolling posts VS post that actually try to discuss an aspect of the game.

Really tho ign's interview with bungie on raids stated that raids give you absolutely no direction in a labyrinth of disappearing platforms dead ends and traps in those dead ends you can only imagine how f'n hard that would be to work for an hour so to get to a dead end where there was a trap a wave of bs enemy's that your team could not overcome and not even have a chance to comb the area to see if maby there was a way through and maby it wasn't a dead end just to go another hour to get there beat the raid that previously killed you and check it off as a dead end and head back for another path if you can make it on a series of disappearing floating platforms that took hours alone than you find a sub boss maby 2 with ability's you have never seen find out how to beat them just to get to a final boss after hours of trial and error and lose again and maby again before tour team can find a suitable strategy to attempt to keep at least 1 man alive while the others sacrofice themselves again again only to gain a bit of damage while more than likely fighting wave after wave of distractions of probably invisible flying enemy turrets trying to make you f up i believe it took 16 hours because they walked into it with very little game experience and no raid experience let them do it again and i bet its half the time having ran it completely once and knowing what is coming

1 답변It took them 16hrs to complete. So it didn't say that was all in one play. It took them enough tries to amount of 16hrs, thy just couldn't complete it. If I remember right he said that a skilled team could finish it in less then 3 hrs if they new what to do. There is no waypoint or directions on what to do in a raid. They also could've just been wondering around for ever wondering were to go?

2 답변You know why it took them 16 hours to complete?
they found a purple ball inside
작성자: Atom Alchemist 8/4/2014 1:34:21 AMIn World of Warcraft, the hardest raids, takes players hundreds of man hours, single bosses may take several hours alone just to learn the mechanics. This 16 hour failure does NOT surprise me, my bet is they probably had hiccups on several of the bosses, and they probably made it pretty deep. Also, a possibility is that they had a sub optimal spec and gear choices which could've made the content that much harder for them.

2 답변작성자: Prime 8/3/2014 12:11:56 AMI'm wary that they were called professionals. This game hasn't even been on yet and they're already professional? Developing a game and being a "pro" at it is not the same thing (IF Bungie devs really did play it.) So when I heard story about the 16 hour raid I was skeptical, still am actually. I'll know for sure how hard it really is once the community gives it a shot.

I agree with a number of replies about them having a 16 hour window, most likely. Also remember they, Bungie, were using this team to test the raid system. It could very well have been that there were adjustments being made to the raid on the fly and flaws were being possibly found. Either way, until there is a clear and complete comment by either the team or Bungie we can only guess.

1 답변Has anyone played or seen an mmo? Wow had raids just like this, that took way longer than 16 hours. If anything I think its split up in sections so the final play time would result in some where around 16 hours. Also remember that raids will have lvl 20+ enemies around every corner, so every encounter is like a one on one.
this is what i think.
The way I'm imagining the raid to be is the same as when we got set loose on the moon. How most of us strayed from doing the moon mission to explore Hell Mouth and below. Since they said there was no waypoint or nothing telling you where to go or what to do, I think it is going to be the same feeling as exploring a new planet, but in a temple with a ton of monsters and hardcore parkour.

2 답변I read your Edit about your post being humorous etc. I just want to give my thoughts as to why it could've taken 16 hours. Deej have said in multiple interviews that they want you to reach a boss and realize "oh we can't beat him because no one brought arc weapons for his shield" Imagine this happening for each and every boss plus a couple of wipes. Then I think it could add up to 16 hours :)

bungie wouldn't make something so hard that 6 "professionals" can't finish it. It's probably hard but not hard to where you can't finish it. As somebody who finished the halo's on laso I don't believe that this will be as difficult as only being able to assassinate enemies

IT's easy to believe that "pro" raiders couldn't finish it cause. THey have never played Destiny before this. Hard to have an understanding of something that you just got your hands on to. THese are more likely MMORPG players and as such their experience was of middling help in an action based game. They didn't have the months of playing to perfect or be comfortable with the way their class played. This is hyperbole in the most extreme sense. The odds were stacked against them from the start. Failure was almost destined for them. ANd even if they did pass it you know then that Bungie would have not announced it and would work to make it harder to beat. Cause if a group of players could be dropped cold into the game and beat it what about players that put some time into understanding the game could do then.

Has anyone gotten All the Firefight achievements in Halo 3: ODST? Does anyone remember Vidmaster Challenge: Endure In Firefight, on any mission, pass the 4th Set on 4-player Heroic LIVE co-op. Im a good player, and the people I played with were good too and it took many failures, different combinations of setups, and establishing roles before we could reliably complete the challenge. Raids sound like the evolution of Firefight but with a Purpose. And if it is anything like Firefight and supposed to be as difficult as they have been saying. Then I'm not surprised a people of professionally skilled players couldn't make it through. Give them enough time and planning, they can do it.

The first real raid that WoW had, Molten Core, took months, many months, to be completed after the game was released. In fact the toughest dungeon before the first raid took time before even it was completed. Bungie employees played these games, they said so themselves in the video. I do not expect these raid to be as time consuming as WoW, but I do expect them to be hard and take time, strategy, gear, and communication. When you start the raid, you will not have the gear you need to finish the raid, IMO. (At least not easily)You will get the gear needed while working through the raid. Everything they have said makes me think they made things hard for a reason. I really do not think that everyone will be able to complete the end game stuff. Not for a long time at least.
