no cross platform or cross generation play?
We already knew the game wouod not be cross platform (xbox playing playstation) but, I just read an article today where one of the developers mentioned that destiny would [b]NOT[/b] be cross generation capable by choice. This is unfortunate considering this means my friends and i will no longer be able to play the game together.
Why not instead of dissallowing it perhaps making it a selection say in a matchmaking tab in the settings menu. By default just your console would be selected putting you just in games with folks of your console, but if you select more options the system would allow you to then be paired with players of those consoles who have conversly selected yours (ex. Xbox360 player selects xbox one as well allowing him to play with xbox one players who have also selected to play with xbox 360 players)

3 답변Yeah their argument for no cross gen is weak at best. Oh it's unbalanced in pvp. Cool, let me play pve with my ps3 friends and disable cross gen for pvp. Bam. Done

2 답변I don't see why we can't have cross gen when the XB1/PS4 versions are held back by last gen consoles anyways I mean the only difference between the gens are graphics

4 답변getting micro$oft and $ony agree for cross platform would be damn near impossible. and they chose not to do cross generational because the higher graphics would give next geners a [i]slight[/i] edge over last geners in pvp. and god knows the only advantage anyone should have in pvp is if theyre playing a hunter lol.

Their sole reasoning for no cross gen was the PvP balance due to graphics and performance. A separate set next gen servers just for PvP wouldn't be taxing, I mean they already have them made now. Explore, story, strike, and raids would be pretty cool if if was cross gen.

1 답변I wish it was cross platform. It was one thing I heard (and now realize it is false) that made me want the game. I knew people on Xbox that wanted it and so I got it for PS4. Now we still can't play. But the reasoning in there is sort of an ok reason. But at the same time, we need to sperate those on DSL and Cable. Then after that we need to seperate by connection speeds. I can't begin to describe how often in other fps games I have had a lag issue with the difference of connections. So, while I support the game, and plan on enjoying it for some time, I wish this would have been thought through a little more.
