How can you in the same sentence say you know its Activision doing the deals and partnering with Sony and then say that Bungie should take blame for the things for which the Xbox community feels slighted. Honestly they've done and said all they should and if you don't like it then its up to you to buy the game or not. That's the only decision you've got to make. All these posts about Bungie betrayal and "how dare you do this to me!!! I MADE YOU!!!" is just bullshit entitlement. They made a game you bought the game they made 4 more you bought four more. At best any responsibility they had to any of the Xbox community was to keep those games up and running for as long as they saw fit. Not even as long as you saw fit. They have no personal liability towards anyone when it comes to new titles. NONE. Seriously its like you went out with a girl in high school (secondary for UK) you broke up your senior year and she's dating a new guy. You can't get pissed because he's banging her now. Bungie is no longer under your Xbox umbrella and can do as they please with whomever they want.
My advice, don't feed the trolls and they scurry along to the next free meal.

So the fact that Microsoft and its community saved Bungie is irrelevant ? They don't owe us a life-long partnership, but they were always bound to their community. They really cared for us, for what we saw in them and their beautiful game. Why do they stop now ? Now there's another plattform, and it seems that we're not good enough anymore...

작성자: Uptownbear19 7/13/2014 4:35:57 PMI think the issue is that you're taking the fact that they take responsibility for a product and turning it into they cared for you. The may care but that doesn't mean they are obliged to give Xbox preferential treatment. Especially since they're no longer under the Microsoft umbrella. The thing is that Xbox is good enough Microsoft however decided not to pay the premium that Sony bid for the timed exclusivity so here we are. I am sure you've read this multiple times now but Activision is the publisher and decides such deals with Microsoft and Sony. Not Bungie. Not that it matters but seriously how did you (assuming you consider yourself apart of that subsect of the community) save Bungie.

It's no secret that Bungie was near their end. They even admitted that (sorry, I don't have the source right now). Halo was going to be a strategy game for Mac, something Bungie didn't even wanted to do, but they lacked the necessary money to make Halo how they wanted to. But MS bought Bungie as a whole and gave them enough money, so they could develop the game of their dreams. From now on, Bungie saved the Xbox, like Xbox saved Bungie. It was a good partnership and today we see the result...a prestigious developer who gets 5.000.000.000$ for their new project from Activision. That wouldn't have been possible without MS and their community. And there was real love between them and us, their fans, more than you will ever see between developer and community. This love is now gone...sadly. I hope it returns.

I understand that situation however any person who purchased a Bungie game has received all they are due. The game they bought. They are not beholden to any particular group of people. I get there are strong emotions because of the good times the Xbox community had with the games Bungie has made. If you wish to take some sort of responsibility for their success I guess you can say "Hey I bought that game that made you famous" but that still doesn't mean they owe you or anyone else anything whatsoever. You got the products you paid for and that is all you or any of us are due. Yes Microsoft purchased Bungie and that saved the company in its humble beginnings but that transaction ran its course. Five or so games were made they were all successful (from a sales perspective) and with that success Bungie bought themselves out so that they could broaden their horizons and make Destiny a multi-platform. So I'll say this: "Thank you Microsoft for saving Bungie by purchasing them and allowing them to make some revolutionary games that serve as the basis for a whole new landscape of gaming. Furthermore thank you for selling the rights to Bungie back to the developer so that they may do so once more under their own guidance and allow others besides your following to experience Bungie. In closing I would appreciate it if in the future you advise your community to look deeper into the machinations of corporate game publication and realize that making money in the end is the reason why publishers such as Activision partner with organizations like Microsoft and Sony to fund companies like Bungie to make the games we love and not just because you want us to think you guys love us and want us to think you're super awesome."
