Now I just want to say that I don't know much or anything at all about religion.
I was wondering what you guys would think of a world without religion. A lot of bad things happen in this world because of religion, right? Like wars and stuff.. But also about freedom and how we live with eachother.
Would a religious free world be better? I think it would be.

The reality is that religion has influenced a huge amount of what North America is today. I believe that it is extremely difficult to deduce exactly how we would have changed if we didn't have religion as an influence. The one thing I seem to do is quickly jump to the assumption that our world would be extremely different. Thinking about it I am not so sure now. Perhaps society wouldn't change all that much. I honestly beleive that the evil would just find some other ideology to cling to as an excuse to wreak havok. All I know is that as of right now a portion of the world is in a good place morally and politically and I have to thank religion for being the proverbial guiding light. Maybe we would have been better off, maybe not, but I do hope we keep progressing together as a society for better change.

1 답변Whenever I think about how the world would be without religion I always think about the South Park episode where Eric goes to the future and all the atheists are killing each other by the millions because they couldn't agree what to call their group. Mankind is destructive. If we don't fight about religion we'll find something else stupid to fight about. Just a thought.

1 답변Personally for me I think the world would be better if there wasn't so much intolerance towards it, I mean sure people are entitled to their own view, but there is so much close mindedness with quite a bit of people.

Depression would run rampant in a world where EVERYBODY believes that they're just some cosmic accident, and hundreds of thousands of suicides would follow. Governments would become tyrannical, because they have no God to answer to. THEY would become the highest power, and could do whatever they want without repercussions. After all, there would be no God to judge and punish them for whatever they've done. Every country would have it's own Adolf Hitler to run it. There would be no true reason for ANYBODY to do good, because no matter what you do, you die after 80 years (If you're lucky) and everything you did will be forgotten after 20 years. So, it would be far smarter to soak up all the pleasure and fun you can within that small window of time. Why do charity and service when you could find pleasure with alcohol, food, and sex? Humanity's main goal would be to have as much fun as possible before you die, no matter the consequences. Once you die, the world you leave behind will be the problem of somebody else, and they can deal with it. It would become a very dark world; one I would never want to live in.

Yes. Imagine a unified world without religion. No "no your way is wrong and stupid" or "your way of life is sinful" bullshit. Sure, there would still be some -blam!-ed up people in the world, but just think how many conflicts we'd have avoided without religion.
