My only question is this; if the cloud is dividing up these computations, why wouldn't any system (regardless of inherent lag on that system) help? It seems to me that by dividing up these computations systems with a faster, more reliable connection would be able to handle the larger pieces of information whilst those with less powerful, slower connections can handle very small calculations. Disclaimer: I'm only thinking aloud, don't bash me.

I remember somewhere watching or reading about the cloud trying to localise your data centre or something in regards to your location to minimise the lag for cloud processing or what not. I agree that internet speed/latency can/will play a major role in this "cloud" thing working, however if it is possible to localise the data centre to the location of each individual player/console it will mitigate the effects of said "slower" internet speeds would it not?
