Part of me wishes the Xbone kept their DRM policies

For the sole purpose of seeing what their launch would have been like.

It would have been much better. Gamers do not like innovation though, they like the same garbage and like to continue whining about how there is no innovation. It may not have been a brand new idea since they were essentially creating a system like Steam, but at least they were innovating the console market. Gamers apparently do not like cheap games though. All of those Steam sales would have eventually been on Xbox One if Microsoft stuck with their original policies, but unfortunately they listened to all of the incompetent children who have not developed any social skills and have no idea how the world works.

      • They would have sold a lot less.

People today are so reliant on internet that they can't live an hour without it. The DRM policy wouldn't even matter.

      • The whole idea behind family game sharing seemed really cool! I would not have minded drm because it would've brought some awesome features and, as others have said, insane sales like steam gets.

        • I think I would have welcomed it too. I mean when I look at my Xbox One and the games I have for it, like Forza, Titanfall and Battlefield, it really would have made little difference to require online or not, because they're pretty much reliant on having an online connection. Not to mention future games like The Division, The Crew, Project Spark, to name a few, all somehow either use online assets or flatout require an online connection to play. The ways games from this point forward are being developed, it would have made little difference imo.

        • I think trying to force people into it was a bad idea, because there's always going to be backlash when you change something so significantly in a short period of time. What they should have done was made the always-online an opt-in service, that comes with certain benefits the people who opt-out don't get. An extra Game with Gold, or discounts on the Marketplace, perhaps?
