We've already passed the tipping point where there's enough carbon dioxide (and other green house gasses) in the atmosphere that sea levels are going to continue to rise irregardless of what we do to curb carbon emissions. So while we many not be able to stop that, we can still cut down on diseases caused by air pollution including asthma, bronchitis, lung cancer, and brain developmental diseases.
The other argument is that even if we stop polluting ourselves, China will still be burning so much coal that the pollution will spread to us anyway (the smog above Los Angeles originates mostly from China and they are carried by winds over to the U.S. and other parts of the world).

Just because china is on fire doesn't mean that we should set the rest of the planet to burn. China is starting to fix their shit for smog after people finally lost patience with them, America should be doing the same not going 420 smoke coal evry day.

5 답변Not yet. Technology in the carbon capture industry isn't anywhere near the level it needs to be in order to comply to any new regulations. Biased poll is extremely biased. Ignorant OP is ignorant.

They probably should. But we all know that the west isn't going to do anything until climate change is affecting their economies significantly enough. By that time it will be too late and the human race will be almost extinct.
-
China being reckless as shit doesn't give us the green light to stoop to their level and say "-blam!- it, we're too late anyway." It's never too late to clamp down on incessant and careless organisations shovelling their crap into the atmosphere.

3 답변The more the government props up the green industry the worse off we are. Natural adoption of green technologies is the best way to ensure the industry's future financial security.
