So one day Mister Pennybags walks up to you in the street and offers you a choice.
The first option; You get $1 Million immediately added to your account. There are no taxes to be paid or investigations into how you got the money. You just get $1 Million pure disposable income for free. No catches.
The second option; You have 24 hours to choose 20 people, organisations or charities who will each be credited with $1 Million to their accounts. No catch, but you don't receive any of the money yourself. If one of these people then gifts you with money from this $1 Million you have to pay a 60% windfall tax on it no matter the size of the sum.
Vote Flood! and let's see how generous you are! (Or aren't.)

I don't want to sound like an asshole, but charities such as Oxfam receive a lot more than a million on a yearly basis. The million would probably be the equivalent of a raindrop in the ocean, in the grand scheme of things. Money pls.

2 답변Give it to people in Sweden who agree to give me half of the money. It's in Sweden and a Swedish bank account so I can't be taxed. I win.
Come at me
I know that if I had $1 million, I'd probably blow it all in one day on video games, food, and cheap propane accessories. But if I gave it away, not only would those 20 people probably try to kill each other for the rest of the money (Hello Hunger Games), but they'd do the same thing I would do. So, I'll split it 50/50.

Morally feel good for giving organizations the money just so they will turn around and spend it all on advertising or set myself up first then use the remainder to buy every major charity, combine them, solve world problems one at a time while taking 1% of the money this major organization gains.

3 답변작성자: Y SO REACH BETA 12/9/2013 4:39:12 AMTake the money. I have a few investments lined up that are very likely to turn a large profit. I can start businesses and make long term investments that are capable of fiscally returning to the public and through their very nature, make the world a better place. I could start up a charity and very good businesses with that kind of capital and continue to invest with it. A grocery store with the local economy in mind could drastically improve small town economies and promote better food distribution, I could even have on site production to minimize expenses in shipping allowing for better worker pay and a more viable way to compete in the market, making an environmentally friendly food supply the regular in the industry and helping local economies rather than having Wal-mart shit on local business and agriculture. It doesn't require much imagination to become a successful businessman, you just have to see the opportunity and there is a lot of it.

3 답변작성자: Dragonfire 12/9/2013 4:16:05 AMActually, what if I take the money. Then, after carefully selecting the people/charities of my choosing, I'll give 60% of that money away to them. I'd then put 20% of it away for financial security for me and my family, then spend the remaining 20% as I see fit.

1 답변I give the money to other people, but on the condition that each of them gives me a quarter back. 25% of twenty million is five million, which, even after tax, still leaves me with more than double of what the first option would've given me.
