I just revisited Halo 3 after a good while and played through much of its campaign once again.
I realized something - the game is timeless. Much like Super Mario and such, the game never seems to get old.
I truly enjoy it to this day, despite the number of prettier and more 'polished' titles you can find out there.
Will you one day expose your own children to the original Halos? You know 15 or 20 years down the line.

But I'll start with the Reclaimer Trilogy, and here's why: Like Star Wars, the originals were awesome because they took place right in the middle of the action. There were no rising events, you had already known what happened. But there's always the mystery of how it went down... Think of it like this: you've never played any Halo games before, and you start of Halo 4's campaign. You awake to the sound of Cortana's voice yelling at you. You have no idea how you got there, but it is hinted at. You learn that you had a truce with the covenant, something you've never known. And you learn of Cortana's rampancy. I could've written it better, but I'm quite tired honestly. Oh yes, OP. Halo 3 is only timeless because its jam-packed with nostalgia from your past. Someone who has never play H3 before will likely think it is boring because H3 isn't up to the standards of today's shooters. (Still a fantastic game, though.)
