Yet you need a really good PC to run that game at 30fps. That's proof that Mojang doesn't give a shit about optimizing that game for PC. They know its full of junk code yet they still won't try to optimize and clean it up. At least 4J studios gave enough of a shit to make sure it runs well on the Xbox. Maybe Mojang just needs to get the -blam!- out and let 4J handle what they clearly can't.

My Laptop can't run Minecraft at anything better than .00001 FPS at the lowest settings. But that's because my computer crashed a while back and I had to get a new (old) hard drive. Something went wrong with the reconstruction, and now my computer sucks even more than it did before (it was still bad before). That's what I get for not having teh moneyz and not being a computer guy.

8 답변1) The Xbox version doesn't run on Java, whereas the PC version does. Java requires more RAM than other programs. So the more RAM the better. Also, on the Xbox, it puts all of its system resources into the task at hand, whereas PCs do not. 2) It's not that Mojang doesn't care about optimizing the PC version, it's that they originally made the game in Java and they can't just jump ship all of a sudden. 3) Lrn 2 research

4 답변maybe if you didn't play with a -blam!-ing toaster, you'd be able to hit 60 FPS on Minecraft, My LABTOP can handle Minecraft at 100 fps, and 45 when recording.

4 답변Minecraft Xbox and Minecraft PC are built on completely differently technology. The PC version is written on Java, which allows it to have an infinite world which can automatically expand as you walk in any direction. The xbox version is written in C++ as the Xbox 360 doesn't support Java. This makes the infinite world feature impossible to implement; however it may make rendering the world more efficient, thus allowing the game to run at a higher fps despite running on an inferior piece of hardware.

Well it's true that the underlying systems of the PC Minecraft were written by Notch who is great at game design, but he's not a Computer Scientist and he really didn't optimize things as he went. Also I believe that Java as a language isn't well suited for the sort of game that Minecraft is, but that's just what I've heard other Computer Scientists at my University agonize about. I'm not sure if they coded the 360 version from scratch or really any of the details, but if it was, it would explain why the game runs more smoothly. I wouldn't bash Mojang too much though, despite their success, they're still and indie company, and refactoring a lot of the low level systems to make Minecraft run smoothly is a TON of work.

Java Get over it or port it yourself. In fact, here. Get to work. It's open source and everything. Just stop complaining. This is one of those complaints that's valid, but completely pointless.

4 답변Agreed. I don't own Minecraft for PC, but I've played it at a friends's house. It was slow and had a poor frame rate. That rarely happens on 360, unless you are playing with a lot of people and the connection is bad.
