Why do I want to play Destiny? Because of you guys. You were the main reason I decided on the XBox, for this generation and the last. You gave us Halo, Marathon, Myth and now this. I fall in love with everything you guys make. Music, virtual weapons, t-shirts, elaborate stories (especially those in text). I even have to admit I teared up when I watched "O Brave New World." You guys put your soul into what you craft. You make games I love and respect... and I will happily root for you when you accomplish Step 7.

Destiny, it is the son of the almighty. So begins a new life upon new ideas, new hope. We can look for something in the future, and believe in it. This is our Destiny.

Alright, so, where do I begin? Well, let me start off by giving out my life story. (If you don't care about that silly crap, just skip to the bolded line. That is where I start to talk about Destiny.) I also uploaded some Vocaroo files in case you want to listen to my nerdy voice instead of read, but it's chock full of mouth breathing and a couple of vocal mistakes. It recorded it a little bit after midnight, but enjoy I guess: http://vocaroo.com/i/s1z4WqMMpvjE - Part 1 http://vocaroo.com/i/s0FkJHm9WMSy - Part 2 Where do I begin? Well, if we get into the real pre-adolescence years, then I can be described a kid who couldn't tell an N64 from a VCR-player. I didn't know anything about the world, videogames, or really anything, actually. I just lived life as an ignorant grade schooler. And it was probably one of the greatest eras of my life. Everything I did and every game I played had a magic feel, every environment and setting I jumped into made me want to immerse myself into it. I began to grow fond of every type of videogame; from RPG to FPS, sprite-based to low-rez poly, medieval to sci-fy, ultra-relaistic to fantasy-like, openworld to linear, and of course singleplayer to multiplayer (with co-op to merge to two). I fell in love with the creativity poured into these universes and learned to appreciate all of them, not really taking up full frontal loyalty with any of them in particular. Honestly, inside, I think I wanted to escape life and be in one of these worlds. Maybe even make one. So, what does this have to do with Destiny or Bungie? Well, we're getting there. Back then I didn't really know my consoles, just genres and characters among other things. Playing Halo with my nut-sized brain was a new experience every time. I didn't have an xbox of my own, and I couldn't find Halo: PC at the local grocery store, so I often came over to my nieghbor's to play. My good 'ol bro Sean and his best friend Alex were huge Halo buffs and often booted up CE or 2. Their sister Steph was really cool and filled in the 4th slot, so we usually had a full party going on. They mostly played multiplayer, and since I usually played story-based games at the time, this was a new thing. To meet a digital version of my pals was mindblowing, and the interactions that we had with each other though this game was simply mythic. And this was local, too. These were the times when the bestest of buds would host LAN parties and mates would gather around from a crap day at school to throw down on the couch. It wasn't until a few years later when online play on consoles went into overdrive. Accelerate into middleschool. At this point, I still didn't own an xbox. I was a huge PC elitist now (still am!), and quite the videojuego aficionado. In terms of Bungie games, I naturally could only get my hands on the PC-available games, such as Halo:CE, the Marathon series, and ONI. All great games with great worlds that I can immerse myself into. In terms of console-ware, though, I really wasn't interested in what Microsoft had to offer. I still reveled in the Halo series, though. I lurked the Bungie forums and was an avid fan of Halo machinima, and even though I couldn't play the the games, they were still entertaining to watch. Eventually Halo: Reach came along. And this... this is when I couldn't take it anymore. Bungie's "last" halo game. The game that would turn the series into full circle. My best friends Alan and Gio were ecstatic when they learned that I was finally going to be able to play Halo with them. In fact, Gio even gave me his spare xbox as a birthday present! Albeit, he thought it was totally broken, but hey! It ended up working perfectly and I shelled out 200$ the following week- 100$ for the balls-off-the-walls rad legendary edition of Halo Reach, and another 100 for a headset. I finished Noble 6's crusade, and I had a blast learning more about the lore and creating my own Spartan. Unlike a few other games that featured simultaneous multiplayer and story modes, Halo always manages to pull me into the campaign. And then... I got around to finally trying out the multiplayer. The sudden explosions. The heart-wrenching betrayals. The penumbra that was victory which followed a close match. It was the hour of reckoning that beckoned people like us to do the amazing- the stuff Fails of the Week clips and Fileshare frontpages were made of. And all along the way, I shared this experience with my best friends. Not only did I have interactions with them, I also had interactions with people I didn't even know- and yet, it felt so close. We either hated the teammates or opponents we were paired with or bonded with them. Despite being very experienced with online-play (I took a liking to mmo's and f2p fps's at the time), it always felt like a singleplayer battle for some reason. And you know, that's fine, but as a truly unique multiplayer experience , I rarely felt a bond or sense of interactivity with any of the usernames on my screen. I'm not sure if what I felt while playing halo multiplayer was because I was playing with my friends or what, but to be honest, I think it's an experience you always get when playing a multiplayer mode crafted by devs or communities like Bungie's. Devs that care about their players. That interact with them and host events. Communities with personality and flare. It's things like that really make an enjoyable online experience. So, fast forward to now. I'm in highschool. Today is 7/7/2013. Bungie day. Aaaand it's 11:49. About an hour until the whole shebang ends. I own pretty much all the legendary versions of the Halo series, have every other Bungie game downloaded on my awesome new pc, and have full confidence in my videogame know-how (while still trying to withhold an outgoing personality in real life). Am I boasting/bragging/falandering? Kinda. I guess I'm proud of stuff like that. What I'm try to get across is my history with Bungie and my experiences with videogames. And in essence, the entire reason why I even included my life story is... To get across why I want to play Destiny. That talk about being immersed in the worlds that videogame developers craft? I want to play Destiny to get into the universe. I'll say it right now, I love videogame stories. And aesthetics. and graphics. And lore. and environments. And all the other components that make the world of a videogame. Bungie's take on the Halo franchise and the extended universe has always had a place in my heart, from the beautiful maps to the crafty characters. From the destructive weaponry to the slick vehicles. And, of course, I'm expecting Destiny to follow in Halo's footsteps, IF NOT SURPASS IT! I want to learn more about the Fallen! The Hellwalkers! The Traveler! The ships! The cities! I want to leave my mark on Destiny. I want to explore these open worlds! The barren lands, the bustling cities, the abandoned walls, whole planets, even. I want to create my character and imprint them in the story! I want to learn more about the lore that is hidden in these mysterious glimpses of the future. And then there's multiplayer. Multiplayer isn't something you guys just tack on. We know this. This huge open world and player-gathering instances is something Bungie has never really attempted before... and I feel good. I think the whole community feels good. I mean, the thought of getting your friends together to explore this open world and interact with each other as well as the opportunity to interact with people across the country just seems real good. Destiny is going to be a game where player interaction will change the way the world evolves. It's going to be a game where one way or another, paths will be crossed. It's going to be a game where the world and interactivity is going to come together and that. That is why I want to play Destiny. I want to Believe.

  • I am a huge supporter of Bungie, and have faith that this game will blow my mind, and bring a great new setting to the world. Not only the gaming world, given how influential Halo was, but possibly to readers who enjoy lore, settings, story, and so on. I want to get lost in another world I can call my home.

  • I want to play Destiny because I have grown up with Bungie and their work of art, HALO. I love Bungie takes games to a whole new lever, games are more sophisticated then ever now. Halo was not only an awesome video game series, but also an epic tale of the galaxy. Just when I thought halo had thrown everything at me, you meet the flood, and then the forerunners. Halo has given me a world of my own that I can step into when I just want to get away from the" real world". Such as reading the books or playing the games. I know that Bungie has more than just an awesome multiplayer experience up their sleeves. I have a feeling that those cheeky authors and artist are working on an entirely new story..dare i say bigger than Halo. Im really curious to see what the Destiny team has and I cant wait to play it!

  • I want to play Destiny because of several reasons. First of all, Bungie made it. The company behind many great and innovative games is at it again. A game that's multi-platform? Cool! Now I can talk about my Destiny experiences with people who don't have the opposite console. But most of all I want to play because of the features of the game. It has the feel of spartan armor without completely copying it, it features co-operative play and best of all, you can meet up with other players thanks to the battle events.

  • Why do I want to play Destiny? Mainly because you guys made it. I remember when I started with the Halo series, my mum's boyfriend at the time introduced me to Halo CE, at the time I was so terrible I decided that my challenge would be to become better than my mentor (He was pretty bad, but I applaud the guy for showing me something I would treasure my entire life). So anyway, I got better and better at Halo CE, and I convinced him to go out and buy Halo 2 a year after its release. We played it whenever I was over. My mother and him broke up a year before Halo 3, but i still went over to see him because it was the only place I could play with someone else. (No internet=/= no XBL). When Hal 3 was released I was so pumped for it I could hardly wait. But when I went over to see the only person I knew who could play, he wasn't able to afford the new 360. So I waited a year or so, biding my time. My brother got an xbox some time later, and I learnt to play Halo all over with my brother, and to this day he can smash me. But I still didn't own a 360, and my brother was living with my father whilst I was with my mother. But when I saw the ending to Halo 3, and rumours started to circulate that Bungie was done with Halo I became kinda sad. The story goes on, but in truthfulness its all there just to express how much I have loved you guys over the years. Its not hard to see that you guys were practically my childhood, and as I continue to grow, I hope that you guys do as well! I want to experience what you have planned, and I want to know everything there is to know about your new universe. Live long and prosper harry, and may the force be with you? -Gandalf.

  • Halo... legendary. But Destiny? This game will be something different, and by different I mean godly. This game WILL set the standard for first person shooter games, just as Halo Combat Evolved did on its release. This game will raise the bar higher than its ever been set. Let's just say if God needed a pair of binoculars to see the bar in the distance below him with Halo, he's going to be straining his neck looking up at it with Destiny. Halo Reach was the last great thing Bungie came out with since 343 took over... and for a while, people have been waiting for another masterpiece from the real creators of Halo. Other companies create good games that play through nice and then gather dust after a month, but its the games Bungie produces that live on for years and years. It's not just their games either... it's Bungie themselves. You guys with your community and everything you do for your players is what creates an other worldly experience when playing your games. Not only have you created a living breathing organism with your games, but you've armed it with laser beams, particle cannons, and jetpacks that help it outrun and outgun any other game on the market. That is why I want to play Destiny, to experience the next greatest gaming experience that will change the way all games play and how all games are created. Thank you Bungie. I know you guys will absolutely nail it with Destiny.

  • I want to play Destiny to experience Bungie at its best. Experience an extraordinary piece of art that will revolutionize the gaming industry and push gaming to new limits. I want to play a game (Destiny) that rewards you for working as a team, but at the same time gives you a very epic experience when you are forced to play alone. I want to play a game (Destiny) that I can immerse myself into. A game where the lore and culture is so detailed that I can learn about the history of the Titans, and how they built the wall around the last human city, to being able to understand and solve the mystery of the Traveler and it's foes. I want to play a game where my fire team, my clan, (FTO, Fire Team Omega) and I can make a name for ourselves and use each others skills and talents to become LEGEND. I want the game that I have been dreaming about day and night. The game that I can't go twenty minuets without thinking about. I WANT DESTINY. -Heracles FTO #FTO #Destiny #promisespromises #bungiedaychallenge

Literally every part of the game. I first saw it when I was downloading the Bungie app to try and get the in game items for Reach, but the layout had changed. There was stuff about some new game Bungie was making. I watched the 2 videos and flew through the website reading all I could about this new game, and I was hooked. I have been avidly following ever since. I also want to have complete customization control over my character, and actually see it in game. Most modern shooters lack that completely. Halo is O.K. at this.

  • The very first Halo game was what got me hooked onto First Person Shooters, but after many of my friends stopped playing Reach along with much of the other community, I've been looking for another FPS like the Halo series to fill the void. Unfortunately, although Halo 4 was an impressive game, the game play was nothing like the others and it felt very alien to me, as well as my friends that joined me on that battlefield. Bungie hasn't done me wrong before, and so far the Destiny game play looks VERY nice and Halo-esque from my perspective, even the walking animation looks similar to that of the Halo Reach spartan models IMO. The MMO aspect of the game is also something that caught my attention and made me even more interested. I know that when Destiny comes out, me and my buddies will be playing it like we did during the good old days in Halo, where we just stay up every night and have late night talks about life while we adventure across new playing fields, fighting others and just having a good time.

  • Having just received my FWC shirt in the mail the other day (even though I'm not entirely sure what factions are yet) and already planning my Traveler tattoo, I am extremely excited for this game. When Bungie stopped making Halo I was upset. I didn't know what to expect but I knew that the next game created would potentially surpass Halo in every way simply because they know how to make great games and now are given the opportunity to do something entirely different (something you could tell they wanted.) I'm excited for Destiny because not only is it already shaping up to be an entirely new and exciting video game for the next generation of gaming but it is clearly a labor of love for Bungie to be dedicating the next decade to it. I already intend on purchasing Destiny for the PS4 as well as the Xbox One. I truly cannot wait. Thank you Bungie and Happy Bungie Day!

  • My first experience with Halo was when I was only a little kid. At that time, I only played computer game but after playing Halo, I opened my eyes to the world of video games. As time goes by, I got more fond of Halo and also knew about Bungie. I became crazy about Halo I even bought books and encyclopedia and comics that does not sell in South Korea where I live. When 343 Industries got hold of Halo, I thought Halo would still be awesome game that has great attraction. But when I actually played Halo 4, I couldn't find such. That's when I notice that what I loved was not Halo's attraction, but Bungie's. With previous expectation and satisfaction you've earned to people, I think Destiny is going to be very beginning of World Domination Step 7, and I am falling for it. I'd like to see what you can do with whole new Destiny universe. And I WILL play Destiny no matter what!

  • Im going to make this as simple as possible because I could go on for hours talking about why I want to play Destiny. But the main reason is because I have had Bungie in almost my entire life. I grew up with HaloCE on the PC and Xbox and then went to the Halo2 midnight release with my brother in 2004 and have been a huge and hooked fan since. When you guys left halo in 2011 I was disappointed, but I didn't leave you guys as a fan like a lot of people did. And when i heard you guys were making a new game I didn't listen to the reviews, i instantly knew i was going to purchase it because you were making it and i had and still have faith in you guys for making a great game like the ones you have blessed us with over the so many years. There are a lot of posts about this subject and I doubt you will pick me because there may be way more qualified then i am but just knowing that you might read this excites me. Thank you for everything bungie!

I believe in a future. A future where man can be unified on earth. A future where man can be unified amongst the stars. I believe in a future, where humanity is not alone. A future where we can fight for our very existence. A future where we stand a chance on the galactic scale. I believe in a future where man has grown beyond these earthly bonds. A future of colossal might. A future of colossal hope. I have seen this future, And I wish to be its Guardian.

  • My favorite RPG of all time is Skies of Arcadia for the Dreamcast. The setting is a post-apocalyptic/war torn world, and it is all about discovering and exploring new lands and uncovering historical relics lost long ago. Eventually in the game you obtain your own flying airborne pirate ship that you can customize to your liking to use while traveling around the world. The battles are exciting, but more than that, Skies of Arcadia was the first game that to me really FELT LIKE AN ADVENTURE. Any new land or discovery I found while flying my ship around the world felt like an accomplishment. I beat the game multiple times and enjoyed every minute of it (still hoping they come out with an HD remake because I would snap it up in a heartbeat). Destiny is the first game since Skies of Arcadia that has really captured my interest in such a huge way because it seems Bungie's goal is to give the player that same feeling of adventure. We get to travel throughout our solar system and we have no idea what we're going to find out there. It's going to be an exciting and beautiful experience, and yet, more than that, we will be experiencing this all with our friends. Almost everyone here will agree that their most memorable moments they have had playing Halo was with a few friends, either in person or through XBox Live. And now Destiny is being created with a social experience at the very heart of the gameplay. Now we will be thrown into a brand new universe, with who knows what out there waiting for us, on planets near and far, with just a couple friends and a couple guns. The SENSE OF ADVENTURE is growing every day, and because of that, I cannot wait to play Destiny.

  • My first video game ever was Halo CE Demo on my PC. I have played Halo my whole life and it was sad to see Bungie leave Halo behind. Then I saw the Destiny reveal trailer, and my mind was blown! I knew when I saw that trailer, that this was going to define gaming for the next gen. I really can't wait to get online with my 2 best friends and go on an epic adventure! The fact that teamwork is a huge thing in Destiny really gets me pumped for this game. Just that idea of me being a Warlock and my friend being a Titan being on the front lines taking out Fallen scum while my other friend is covering us as a Hunter with a sniper just sounds pretty dang epic! Bungie is THE perfect company, you guys take your time on every game and perfect it to the smallest detail. Halo was my favorite game ever, I loved every single one of them, and I bet you anything Desitny will take the throne.

  • I want to play destiny for a multitude of reasons, but par none it is because i have faith in you, bungie, i mean looking back in the previous decade... its mind blowing to say the least. The original trilogy just resounds in my heart and always will, Halo: Combat Evolved will always be, and indubitably is my childhood game.... the game that made me what i am today. Im serious i was never good at getting drawn into a game, i would just have a brief foray into an occasional game, but that all changed when my dad brought home a brand spanking new Xbox with Halo: Combat evolved and it really helped me bond and establish a good relationship with my father. He went from the loving protector, to the best of friends, someone i can level with with complete security and gaming has truly let him get to know me on a level neither of us could imagine. He still doesn't know that this is why i have such a good relationship with him. The halo Trilogy also lit up a pretty bleak childhood, i had what maybe 3 friends in my whole school BEFORE i moved, i had a lot of fun with those guys, and i still know them today.... my first friends ever, i have known them since Pre-K. Halo 1 and 2 really helped bond us together. Then in 2006 i Moved and didn't talk to anyone at my school really for a whole year, i escaped to halo 2 (even though i could never pass the second part of the game, i always got lost) and halo 1, where i would be happy. I made a really good friend a few months before the Xbox 360 was released. And while playing i met a group of guys online and we quickly became friends, i found out that one of them was my friend Noah and that the other guys also went to my school, we meet in real life and i'm still friends with them today. Halo not only sheltered me, but let me come out of my shell, today i think almost everybody in my school knows who i am, and i apparently am "popular" but i laugh at that, i just have a lot of friends. So i guess i want to play destiny because i REALLY love Bungie, with everything they have done for me... i trust them completely that they will make a game that will absorb me into a fantasy world that i will fall in love with. Not to mention that bloody epic soundtrack that bungie is famous for parring with an integral and captivating story that is joined with superb gameplay and the games frankly flow smoothly. [P.S. I love ODST and Reach equally, but those games just didn't have the affect on my life the first 3 did, by Halo 3: ODST i was all sorted out and could just enjoy the games to enjoy them]
