SPOILERS! LAST WARNING!
What did you guys think of Joel's decision to lie to Ellie about the fire flys and the cure/immune people?
And what do you think was going through Ellies mind when she just said "Ok", does she know hes lieing? Or does she really believe him?
Does this in the end make him extremely selfish or does it redeem the loss of his daughter that he had always wanted?
He basically chose her over mankind when he murdered the scientists/fire flys and saved her from the surgery that would have definitely killed her, but in the process stopped the possible research of a vaccine.
I have to say though, just watching that game, it is a master piece. The voice acting, the characters, the settings, the gameplay everything about that game is spectacular, Joel and Ellie are now some of my favorite characters ever and this game probably in my top 5 and I didn't even play it...
Also...this game made me a sad panda indeed. I was literally biting my nails through watching this game hoping nothing happened to them.
One final question, if you were Joel, what would you have done?
Discuss!
I think that Ellie looked at Joel's half truth and accepts it, because she realizes that there would have been little hope for a cure anyway. The fact is that Joel had to weigh the idea that research while there still WAS civilization couldn't find a cure, and I think I remember somewhere people saying that there are others already being born immune to the spores, which I think is very accurate. I feel as though the spores are everywhere, just in smaller quantities than in massive areas where the first were infected. Because of this, species like ants never developed an immunity to the spores, but because humans are much more complex organisms, we were able to adapt quicker. And in the end, having lived in a "safe" city for so long, Joel realizes that if the fireflies dispense a cure, it will only lead to more war, adding to the personal guilt he is already carrying, so then he realizes he has to save Ellie, destroy the fireflies, and let humanity totally reset hopefully for the better. 1 답변작성자: Comet 6/25/2013 7:40:33 PM
i would have slaughtered every body (which is what i did as Joel, no one escaped). even the doctors that surrendered in the OR (again i did this as Joel). i want to keep Ellie safe and alive and Joel killed Marline so that she wouldnt come after Ellie again. i like his choice, he sees her more as a daughter now. and it is entierly possible that it could be passed on to her kids so the human race may not be as -blam!-ed as it appears to be. i loved this game so much.
2 답변I agree with with Joel's choice to save Ellie. And I think Ellie knew there was something wrong with Joel but she did believe him.

You people should use spoiler tags in case. This is not a game people would appreciate having spoiled.
Playing the game is more exciting than watching it. He only saved Ellie because it mirrored his situation with Sarah. The part with Joel saying "I suppose you can never escape your past, thank you" when Ellie gives him the picture proves that. Ellie obviously knew Joel was lying by the end. Did you not see her face? The fireflies were not exactly good people either. Did you think Joel really would have left Ellie to die through surgery? Nope. Not in hell. You have to listen to all conversations with them to really understand what Joel feels.
