Considering most sci-fi shooters have some sort of shield implemented in the game, would you want to see a shield in Destiny? If not, would a more "realistic" damage system like in BF3 or, dare I say it, COD, be better in this case? Health bars are also an option. Personally, I think a permanent recharging shield would work best. One idea could be that you pick up a shield, but once its broken during combat, you'll have to get a new one. Basically, non-recharchable shields once they're broken. If its only partially depleted from combat, a period without combat will recharge it (as in 2-3 minutes or less). Gimme your thoughts

1 답변what if instead of auto health regeneration your suit is equipped with a healing gel and after a little bit of not getting hit by bullets the suit injects you with the gel. it kinda is like an auto regeneration but you can only use it a certain amount of times before restocking. this just goes along with the technology of the game. personally i would much rather go with cod style regeneration. but i just wanted to throw that other idea out there.

I could go either way. I just don't want to see a player running about taking ridiculous amounts of damage and surviving it all. I'd much prefer a game where players are made to think tactically, rather than made to think "how can I get a better shield??"

1 답변I would like an equipped shield. There would be different points on the bar where if your shield dropped below that point, it would only recharge to that point. Then, one you make it back to the city, you can repair it to full. Also I hope there will be a defense skill tree that will allow you to increase your recharge speed, or raise the amount of damage it takes for your shield to drop one point on the bar.

I don't know you guys... I'm kinda over shields. They've been done to death. Borderlands' shields were fun, but they really felt like candy rather than anything tactically relevant. Keeping with the more serious tone of the game, I'd prefer less variety or no shields at all, particularly if health correlates to speed. I actually think the idea of shields that burn out are really cool. I want a reason to avoid firefight or rushing into battle half cocked. In Halo I just run and toss grenades repeatedly until things die. I don't have to play smart, so I'd like the incentive here.

I've always liked Halo's health system. I think it should be similar with the option to buy stronger and/or faster recharging shields. But once they are equipped they are permanent as in they won't break for good. You could still un-equip it and sell it though.

Shields definitely. And if we can equip other ones, that's great. Personally I miss the health system from Halo: CE. That always made the most sense to me. I assume there will be some sort of health system in Destiny though.
