Do you support equal marriage rights and legal benefits? Call it something other than marriage? Against it entirely?
Discuss. Explain your position.

I'm all for it. Defining marriage as being between a man and a woman is an archaic belief founded by religion. And religion has no place in the drawing up and enforcement of a countries laws. And as it's been mentioned, what sanctity is there left to defend? Same sex marriage should be considered exactly the same as a hetero marriage including all the privileges.

16 답변Well seeing as it's not marriage I'm against it. However if the people want to make up something like "same sex union of love" and give them all the legal benefits and stuff of a married couple then whatever.

Since the only issue seems to be the "same sex" bit I don't see any legitimate reason why these people shouldn't receive the same benefits married couples get. I don't think separate, but equal terms work in same sex marriage. If we have to call it something different we're already assigning it a different label than "cross sex" marriage, and in a largely homophobic society that's about as effective as saying "separate, but equal" in the 1950s.

As a republican/conservative and a Christian. I'm against it. However. Who am I to stop it? I could be against smoking weed but you can do it as much as you like. I don't think it's right, natural, but you can live your life however you want as long as it doesn't hurt anyone or take away anyones rights. And politically, we have things much more important to focus on. (Like our massive debt America) so go ahead. And get with whoever you want to get with. But if qny of you humans love one of those awoken, "things", I'll.... refuse to play with you. JK do whatever ya dweebs
