Sliding makes the player invincible unless you can counteract with shotgun or fusion. I lose every time against a slider with HC or pulse or SMG. They can just slide into you and punch or shot you and I've seen where no damage is received when the slide.

Sliding does not make the enemy invincible, I have personally killed many sliders with whatever weapons I am using, from fighting Lion to pulses to sidearms and hand cannons, does it make it a little harder? At times, but nowhere near impossible, especially with special weapons or abilities.
