Hello, fellow Destiny Player here (11+ years)
If your reading this, then you’ve probably notice a trend in the crucible that is getting more and more noticeable. Sliding.
You can slide a full distance from start with no momentum build-up. Sliding is accepted as a ‘crouch’, so the game hides you from radar. By abusing both functions, you are functionally invisible on radar, you can cross distances to close the enemy or go back to cover at sprint speed, and their hit box is smaller due to being closer to the ground.
I’m seeing less and less head to head engagements and more ‘I’m an eel’ engagements. Sure the metas change, and I don’t want the ‘go fast’ update to be removed, but the crucible isn’t as engaging as it was before.
I’m decent but slow, so I believe that I have a skill issue in regards to certain moment tech, but the slide mechanics are abused so much, I genuinely believe that it should be looked at by a developer and get a rework in the crucible only.
I think that unless absolutely necessary, I’m going to stay out of the crucible until this becomes less of an issue.

Thank you for reading.
I doubt bungie will ever nerf sliding again after they tried years ago by having make you easier to flinch and reduce stability. Which no one liked so they reverted it due ti all the back lash.
Like people said it’s only really an issue in high skilled lobbies or on pc. High skilled players slide around every corner to make it harder to hit their hitbox. Pc players can be running then instantly turn around and slide to cover. Those are really the only two areas sliding is a problem and since PvP population is really low it’s getting harder to avoid these players in general.
Bungie could try giving a trade off again to sliding to give lesser skilled players a chance but I doubt it. They could try adding that trade off of higher flinch resist and lesser stability mid slide again then buff some movement exotics to counter that nerf. They could try something like that but I don’t think that’s in their priority list right now.
