lol when you think about it it is a silly mechanic, and looks silly on screen. Imagine seeing somebody fall on their azz and zip across a room without taking a single step first.
I know it’s high level Movement tech but things like backsliding was clearly never intended.
A sprint timer/cooldown before you can slide would be more realistic but it would make pc players cry.

작성자: Ranger415 5/9/2026 3:02:33 PMI literally just went to open world to double check before I posted this, but on controller I am incapable of sliding from standstill and even getting a quick, 2 or 3 step sprint I was 50/50 slide to crouch. I don't know if M&K makes a difference to this but on controller it seems pretty hard to do from a standstill. Now could there be a device with built in macros that allow this that most console pvp players have been asking to be banned as they violate Bungie's T&C's probably.

I feel like its most likely devices and/or controllers where you can macro things. Because like you I have tried to simulate it as well. Many times with things like this you have to get the timing just right. With a macro that is easy to do 100% of the time.

Look, I binded my sprint to click right stick and hold it for slide. My slide is faster and maybe in time I can go back and forth real fast but thats means completely maximizing my turn speed. But even then I will never turn as fast as a m&k.

작성자: JazzyPaladin477 5/9/2026 3:15:41 PMI think it’s because on K&M sprinting/moving is digital. You have to click a key down so you are either moving max speed/not moving. There is no such thing as a partially pushed key. On controller movement is analogue; your speed is dependant on how far forward the stick is positioned, so sprint and slide can’t happen instantaneously. You just stop and crouch awkwardly. Maybe it would work with sprint toggle on instead of hold to sprint? I’ve never understood why there is even a sprint button on controller. Why doesn’t sprint just happen at a certain point in the stick travel?

Kind of why I said what I said at the end about devices helping this in the console lobbies do what physically cannot be completed on a controller. If I were to name to name those devices I would get a comm ban. So the use of those devices must theoretically be banned as well.
