Though it also happens to be something that if released now people would complain endlessly about. No matchmaking, one of the most difficulty activities and has rare powerful drops.

Oh no you are not! If EP came back I'd be playing everyday instead of a couple minutes a week now. I LOVED EP, especially at the first when we'd work hard(ish) to get 12 people in to run it. But I loved the play, I loved the weekly rotation, I loved thee rewards, I still play with some of those rewards! Heck we got more than just weapons, we got armor, shaders and more! Then came the seasonal activities which, for me, were vastly more miss then hits. And all paled to EP. We've asked for EP back and what did we get we got fishing. Don't get me wrong give me a pole and I'll got back to fishing but I'd prefer it in the shape of a huge Knight or Ogre! EP was the king! Menagerie was the Heir Apparent but still lost something special EP

You are definitely not alone. I mentioned it several times since we lost Mars. One of the best and most entertaining exercises and for sure one capable of bringing a lot of people together in a public event. I am also missing Io and its strikes. Titan with its special little lost sectors. European Aerial Zone (gimme a 24 player Control map...). Bottom line a lot not utilized potential.

2 답변Biggest problem with EP is that you basically had to have a fireteam going into it or you'd never have enough players to get very far. It was a fine event but really demanded you have a full or nearly full zone of players all working on it to progress it far enough to be worth the time.

1 답변That's the thing with Bungie. They know that Escalation Protocol from D2, Court of Oryx and Archon's Forge from D1 were fun popular activities that people would like to see inD2(but on new destinations) but Bungie are too stupid to realize this. I have always thought that the Witch Queen expansion should've had a Court of Oryx activity that could've taken place on Savathun's ship where you fight the first hive guardian in the first mission. An Escalation Protocol mode in the Moth yards or Forgotten Shore areas of the Cosmodrome would be cool too.

1 답변One of my few good d2 memories! A fun grind for a heat weapon. That shotgun was a beast before they nerfed it!

작성자: Northern 5/8/2026 6:21:06 PMEscalation protocol was excellent content and I didn't mind grinding for the shotgun with trench barrel. If memory serves it was Activisions in house game studio Vicarious Visions that produced Escalation protocol. The franchise definitely suffered when Activision bailed. The split was more stupid from Bungo. Look at where the game is now. 🙄

I just wish Public Events were more rare but more rewarding. Like, get rid of the minimap beacons, and have the Rally Flags only appear a minute or two before the event, so that players can enter a region, see the Flag, and stop for a short while for the Public Event to start. For more significant activities like Escalation Protocol, they should have such markers, especially given the length of the activity, but something like a Warsat Event shouldn’t be so announced.

1 답변I started D2 quite late (last quarter of Beyond light) Forsaken was still available but I had month or so to compete it before it got sunset. Probably will never experience all removed content prior to that but would love to see it back.

Definitely not alone, it was a fun activity and the Ikelos weapons were excellent. Too little content were you just band together with random guardians for a world activity these days. That's partly why the game isn't as much fun.
