Oh man, I am beyond excited that Bungie has definitely not delayed Shadow & Order.
In fact, I’m so confident it’s arriving exactly on time that I’ve gone ahead and put in PTO at work. Not just any PTO — the kind you have to strategically hoard like Ascendant Shards. The kind you calculate around project timelines, coverage plans, and the unspoken judgment of coworkers.
But you know what? Totally worth it.
I’m ready.
Snacks stocked.
Schedule cleared.
Kids passed off to neighbors.
There is absolutely no universe in which I wake up on launch week to a carefully worded post explaining how the team just needs “a little more time to deliver the experience players deserve.” That simply does not happen. Especially not in live-service games. Especially not in 2026 Just 2 weeks before launch.
So here’s to Shadow & Order launching exactly as planned. I’ll be there at reset, bright-eyed, PTO approved, embracing the smoothest, most technically flawless rollout in franchise history.
See you all in orbit.

I get the humour. Just shows how people have lost interest though. No one is coming back in four months for this. This franchise is dead, it finished after Final Shape. Not remotely bothered about the four month delay. Nothing there I want. As usual it's all about the people who raid and dungeon. I don't raid and mostly ignore dungeons so there is nothing there for me. Pantheon 2.0 ?? .. don't care. Tiered exotics ?? .. don't care. More tiered weapons ?? .. don't care. And what for ?? .. so we can grind the Portal's ancient activities and pointless difficulty even more ?? Don't care Bungie. Jog on. Witcher 3 DLC apparently inbound around May so that's got my interest. Playing other games and enjoying them.

Everyone could see this coming. They can say a 4 month delay is necessary for an update (not a DLC) but that doesn't actually explain what they were doing all this time? They couldn't make this update the last 7 months, but they made the last DLC in less time? Obviously Destiny 2 is again, taking a bad seat, to Marathon, as the company that siphoned all our D2 money into a different game while lowering the bar of content further and further for the same price, won't just admit, Marathon launch two days after this update was supposed to happen, took priority. Bungie has already shown that cannot handle doing one game, nevermind two at a time. The reasoning is cap. That will be 11 months total for an update, they've done updates in 3 before (again, not even a DLC)

2 답변I sent my kids to Guatemala for the next month! I know the motto is “Don’t over deliver”, but I just had to buy 5 weeks worth of pizzarolls and fruit rollups so I don’t starve myself while playing this huge update haha.

Hehe. I like it. Honestly I have been enjoying renegedes alot. The armor sets new weapons, the gameplay loot. On top of the stat changes are what the game needed a long time ago. That being said, it took them a LONG time to add the right stuff and changes basically after the main 10 year long story was over. This is the real reason why the player count is so low, the main "dark and light traveler" destiny story was the main draw for most players. And they waited too long to make sensible stat changes and armor sets that would have stop gapped the player drain. Either way if they want players to stay and return and spend, they REALLY need to focus on a good compelling story with the winnower or the nine. OR maybe the traveler itself since it should be healed by now tbh. Maybe they wont and it will be a D3 thing. Idk

This delay, internally confirmed at Bungie, aims to give the new extraction shooter, Marathon, a dedicated, distraction-free spotlight.

Ah you missed it > they outsourced communications to Tassi Just change that 3 to a 5 in the PTO calendar with a note: Bungie says, "... I always mess up some mundane detail."
