In typical Bungie fashion, they are making the wrong choices. Again. The longer we go without a roadmap and the longer we go with rumors about a content delay with Bungie saying something, the more damage it does. We do not need to speculate anymore: Bungie CAN NOT manage 2 IPs at the same time. We haven't had Iron Banner since last year and we were promised a roadmap back in November, but we've seen nothing substantial being talked about. Neither have been talked about recently, but Marathon is getting all of the attention. It's getting tons of ads dropped to hype it up.
This isn't how you manage 2 IPs. You don't cut off one entirely to focus on the other, and then take turns. You ESPECIALLY don't do this when both are live service games. It's like the very minds that knew how to handle live services games have left the studio years ago, maybe even around the time of the layoffs. Who knows? Doesn't change that I'm leaning more and more in not wanting to come back and actively praying on their downfall because they are ACTIVELY CHOOSING to ignore feedback and ACTIVELY CHOOSING to mismanage their own titles.
Sony needs to wrap it up and move Bungie over to being a support-only studio for other games, because this is how you waste time and money.

They OWE us four GMs! If Bungie promoted and sold content they haven't made yet then they're guilty of defrauding every person who bought the latest dlc. At this point, I think this studio is capable of anything. It feels desperate and dysfunctional.

작성자: GUARDIAN-IX 2/6/2026 4:53:14 PMThe game is about 160 GB with a Lot of expansions bundled together. How many more expansions and destinations can it get without vaulting anything major? Probably the best time for Destiny 2 to complete is when all the consoles are released (2027-2028) and that Bungie should go All IN during the duration of those Console years. Sales of Consoles could be bleak because AI has hoarded the Ram Chips ATM and new games might be too expensive, so Bungie could try to recapture their market at that time. Send Destiny off with a Bang. Ideally, If Marathon was a sustainable product, Destiny 2 could end and Destiny 3 Lite (two small expansions) could be worked on. Ideally. But that seems more of a pipedream.

1 답변Im not saying they did not screw up the communication or that people shouldn’t be angry. But to be fair « They don’t know how to manage 2 IPs » so are you, and me and 99.999% of the community. It’s one thing to be sitting in the couch screaming at the coach, it’s another one to be on the field making tough call when the livelihood of your studio (and work colleagues) is potentially on the line. Life in big companies is never easy, the guy that gives you budget is often not the one doing the work. It’s been said before, Marathon NEEDS to pop, or it’s probably lights out and goodbye. I’m not happy with the situation but I can wait if that means the game lives on.

1 답변작성자: AmethystRhino 2/4/2026 11:20:22 AMI think you are missing the silver lining in this whole debacle. The nice thing about bungie not telling us about the roadmap or Destiny 2’s future (anything new and positive) is that they are no longer lying to the Destiny 2 community as they have been caught doing over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over…

3 답변I still think the only roadmap we're going to get is for the last chapter of the paid content. I know what Paul says, but I still think Destiny is going on ice for a while...

9 답변It's sad to see such a storied studio reduced to such a sorry state. Not saying it's a long time coming but the writing was on the wall for a while. All I can say is ACTIVELY CHOOSE your next gaming purchase with your wallet in mind. You'll be happier and your wallet will be fatter and happier too. Stay happy and healthy guardians!

4 답변I remember when updates just launched unannounced and people were happy... And Devs could just say hey we're making an expansion it will be out when we get it finished and people were happy... Now everyone thinks they are entitled to every waking minute of information as it happens and the exact hour of launch with painstakingly precise details with zero deviation from announcement to release with no regard for anything except personal and instant gratification on no one's schedule except there own like programing is magic and requires zero moving parts to be served on a silver platter for your exalted convenience..... Y'all need help... Bunch of delusional game addicts making proper gamers look bad... You know who you are... And if you mad it's you...rant complete

2 답변For a road map to mean anything at this point, they'd basically have to deliver the best year of Destiny, and give how they are currently supporting it, that ain't happening. They were probably waiting for player feedback to tell them what to do, but no one is playing to tell them any more.

3 답변At this point, the roadmap has to REALLY hype us up- I'm talking like multiple new weapon frames, new supers for the darkness subclasses, and a new subclass altogether (dark or not, I just want it to be red). As for Marathon, it HAS to hit it out of the ballpark for Bungie and destiny to have any hope of recovering even half it's players in the past few years.
