How to make rewards, rewarding. (Idea)

Before EoF we chased Adepts and Artifice. People would farm for literal days to get the perfect rolls. this should have told Bungie that their harder content rewards was good. Raise your hand if you are farming for a tier 5. That is right, you don't because it drops all the time. What is so bad about this change is that raids don't drop tier 5 unless you put on 5 feats. That is right, the end game content drops weaker versions of weapons than a Strike does. You need to activate some challenges for tier 5 to start dropping. Whilst yes in order to get tier 5 you need to play on Master difficulty and up. It still doesn't excuse the fact that a normal activity drops better gear than the end game activity. Not only that but Pvp will drop tier 5s. Turning in cookies and opening gifts in return would give tier 5s. Apart from visuals and the trait, what are you really getting from a raid now ? With past raids perks being put on other weapons and how Adepts are gone, There is really no incentive to do them. They could be fun for sure, but we are here for the loot. The loot is the driving factor, like it or not, but if something doesn't reward your time, you just aren't going to do it. Or less likely to. This is a looter shooter that has lost its loot. No grinding required, no excitement. You no longer wait in anticipation to see what rolls your weapon came with, to see if you got that elusive and highly sought after 5/5 roll. A flex, an achievement. Now it is just delete delete and delete. What needs to be done before it is to late is to give us that incentive to do the harder content again. My solution is to remove all tiers and go back to the old system but with some modifications. Like before Master raids and dungeons or 5 feats as it is now, will drop the Adept and Artifice again. Unlike before, the buff is a bit more than just a mod a 3+ to all stats other than the masterwork. Weapons. Adepts now comes with 2 bonuses. 1 increased damage, yes. No longer just a little bit more to the other stats or the ability to slot an adept mod, but actual impact increase. So a 600rpm auto rifle comes with 25 impact rather than 21. That along side the other stat bumps when master working your weapon. The second bonus is an increase damage towards the enemy type of the raid where the weapon dropped. So if it is a Vex raid, this weapon would deal an increased damage towards them. And as a special bonus, there is a shiny version of Adepts, with a much lower drop rate. Shiny Adepts comes with all the previous bonuses but also with a second column and the ability to enhance. This would be the perfect incentive for those who loves to grind for the absolute best. Some excitement when completing an encounter. Every chest is like opening a Christmas present. Armor. Artifice gets a bonus mod slot and +5 to its energy slot. Rather than the mod slot just being there to provide an extra 3+ to a specific stat, it now allows you to carry more mods. Such as reload mods, resistance mods, siphon mods, Etc. This i think would incentivize people to do the hardest version of the endgame activity. Not only that but it would be a more worthy reward. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Now these are just suggestions or rapid ideas. But something has to be done before it is to late.

  • Only way to make rewards rewarding is to make drops rare again. Make the soft cap 50 below max (500). Only way to get gear over 500 is endgame (raids, master dungeons, ultimate conquests) and make the gear drop 1 or 2 levels over your average. Remove exotic focusing, make exotic engrams rare drops, bring back glass needles.
