Delete social media, don't watch the news, & you see none of it, it saves you brain damage, worry, stress, clears your mind & you're healthier for it. Did this a year ago, & I've not missed it - outside of the occasional news I'm forced to watch due to family, & it's always very grating as it's always the world's ending, it's designed to keep you in-line.

It's always been this wacky.. It's jus cos technology has changed we can see so much more of it.. we can access the madness at the touch of a button.. If anything, we are becoming more enlightened.. And while the majority of folks can learn so much, the crazy voices shout so much louder. Don't let the lunatic shout you down. The good folks are the majority & those are the peeps we should lift up. Keep being good. We can drown out the shouty few 🤗

Meanwhile the top 10% are making quadruple what they should and we're replaceable cogs in a machine no more valuable than the ads we try to skip in vain... Dystopia... Post

1 답변작성자: LahDsai 1/14/2026 2:42:30 PMEvery generation has said this. Whether it actually is or not is difficult to say. The world has always been insane, we just weren't privy to most of it. In terms of disease, war, and famine, and acces to information there has never been a better period in human history to be alive. That access to information, however, is a double edged sword. It's allowed us to see the insanity — all of it, all the time. It's not that there's more of it, it's that it used to be easy to ignore. Now the good in the world is often ignored which has made us paranoid. As to whether that paranoia will ultimately prove overblown or turn into a feedback loop for worse, only time will tell.

Social media and engagement are literally designed to make you angry. Is it worse? Mostly no. Cameras are everywhere so you see more of the bad. False content is generated to drive engagement which increases the illusion of bad. And then the social media feeds pipe the same bad thing in front of you over and over in a dozen different ways so it feels like it’s all you see.

작성자: eeriearcade 1/14/2026 11:12:29 AMI don’t know. It’s difficult to weigh up if the world is gradually improving, or getting worse. World wars are pretty insane and we haven’t had one of those for a while. There are lots of other awful things from history that could be described as insane now, but were normal at the time. Destruction and pollution of the natural world continues to get worse. We’ve known this for a long time, but repeatedly fail to change course. That’s utter madness. I do hate social media and genuinely believe there is an element of insanity to funnelling your brain into an algorithm that only cares about holding your attention (fear and anger are effective ways for the algorithm to do that). The news has always focussed on fear and anger, more than anything positive and hopeful. It feels like it’s harder to escape now - with everything online, easily accessible, 24/7. I think you just have to find space for other stuff, to broaden your outlook on life, otherwise you’ll lock yourself into negativity.

2 답변Nah. The world always has been, and always will be a terrible place. If it feels like it's getting worse, that's only because it becomes harder to ignore the bad parts as you get older, and as LahDsai said, we have so much access to information these days, and our minds are primed in to focus on the bad things.
