Fire and Ice with a timer is NOT FUN
Absolutely -blam!- ridiculous. I was at the final boss (which is already a -blam!- as a solo Hunter) with a sliver of his health left and the -blam!- timer ran out.
So obviously I was frustrated, but I figured it would send me to the last rally flag with the timer set where it was the first time
BUT NO, I have to start over at the beginning of the -blam!- jumping section (which is awful) and do Ithe 4 light and dark blights section of the mission again.
I just wasted 40+ minutes of the precious little time I have to play with nothing to show for it.
Thanks Bungie. This is the sort of thing that makes people quit playing.
Tl;dr: either the timer has got to go, or the checkpoints need to be more reasonable. Playing through 40 minutes of a mission with no ROI leaves a bad taste in your mouth.

1 답변I have only run out of time ones, and that was because at the boss sections, the enemies just refused to drop dark balls most of the time. It constantly gave me light and when i finally got my last 4 balls, one of them got caught in the gravity of a filled orb and flew of the map. It kind of sucked, but i like the mission and i had already completed it before. So i didn't really lose anything.

Another person who chooses to play a multi player activity solo and complain about it not being a cake walk. It you choose to play solo you are choosing to play a more difficult experience. If you cant handle it either practice until you can or lfg. There is pretty much no excuse to not use lfg.

1 답변작성자: glitchHiker 12/26/2025 5:31:21 AMThere's a cheese you can do that activates the catalyst run, but won't activate the timer. When you go to shoot the four blights, shoot only 3 of them, then wait like 30 seconds or a good minute, then shoot the fourth. You need to be standing at the top of where you drop down when you eventually shoot the fourth, then drop immediately afterwards. I'm not sure if that's absolutely required though. You should get the message on the bottom of your screen but there won't be any timer. It worked for me for the hyperblade catalyst at least. Hopefully they haven't patched this out already, and won't ever, but I'd try it quickly just in case. Enjoy!

8 답변Agreed 100000000000%!!! It’s driving me away from playing at this point. I’ve tried so many times. But I’m a titan and the main jumping puzzle itself is hard enough.

2 답변Exactly! I really hate that Bungie does not revive where you died and respect what the player already have finished, but often have to replay a whole difficult/timeconsuming part if you die. I've had the exact issue with Fire and Ice, and every major 3-part boss. If you have finished for instance the first or second part of a major boss, it should be respected. So if you die a bit in on the second part, you should start where you died and not be forced to play the whole first part again. And then you add timers to this idiocy... Good to see I'm not the only one who thinks the time-consuming and sickening jumping puzzles in Destiny are awful. I've never liked them. They destroy the pace, are boring and sickening, and if you make a tiniest error and die you are often revived way back and have to do much of it all over again.

작성자: ForeverLaxx 12/24/2025 5:10:55 PMUnless they fixed it, you can bug the mission to "activate" the catalysts without having to deal with a timer. That said, it's only really worth doing if you're trying to do all three catalysts at once as you'll generally have plenty of time left over if you're only doing one catalyst per run rather than all three at the same time.

The timer is only for the catalysts, which don't all need to be done at the same time. If you are struggling, it is recommended to LFG or find two other people to aid you. As much as I dislike timers in Destiny, the one in Fire & Ice has got to be one of the lowest on my list, since it is [b]only[/b] for the catalysts/challenge.

작성자: Noodle 12/23/2025 9:11:35 PMIt’s easy mate. Did it solo warlock and got it done with 10 minutes left. I did the puzzle for 3rd catalyst. Arc build (Not Prismatic or melee build) without Getaway Artist by the way. Just a basic stormdancer + praxic blade build. There are a dozen more effective builds I could have run instead, and I still got it done with 10 minutes left. It’s a skill issue on your part. Practice, improve. Find more efficient routes, easier ways to get through. What enemies can you ignore and just run through instead?
